Voyage of The Argo II (HoO AU)

1 Annabeth

We had been following the Argo ll for over a week now and we were all on edge. Reyna wouldn't stop pacing the deck and muttering to herself. Frank clenched the helm, his knuckles tight. Will went over his medical supplies and cursed at Jake. Clarisse, Charles, and Silena argued in hushed tones with wild gestures. Jason paced along the edge of the ship, barking orders at random times. From my spot at the bow I could see the Argo ll as it cut through the waves, heading to an unknown location. I closed my eyes, and let myself remember a time before this. A time when I had everything.
"The Argo ll is turning!" Jake shouted, cutting me out of my revere. The Argo ll was indeed turning to face us.
Jason cursed. "Prepare the starboard side cannons, we must be ready for an attack". Charles nodded and ran below deck. As soon as they were alongside us the pirates did what they did best. They taunted us.
"Oi, what are you doing in pirate waters" a red haired girl asked as she dangled from the ropes.
A pale Italian boy snorted. "They decided to Grace us with their presence of course". The Pirates burst out laughing and Jason flushed red. It was no secret that Jason's sister was part of this very crew of sea scum.
Jason stepped forward. "You are under arrest for violating English law". The pirates whispered to one and other then one of them stepped forward. She had short cropped hair and electric blue eyes. Jason paled and I immediately knew that was Thalia.
"Dear little brother, surely you must know by now. The English law is cruel and alienated. Half of the people on this boat would be arrested even if they weren't pirates. Something tells me that a few of your crew members would be arrested to if you told the king there secrets". Will and Jake shuffled nervously and Reyna scowled at her. One of the pirates stepped up. He had sea green eyes and raven black hair. Despite the fact that he was dressed like the others I knew exactly who he was. It was Perseus Jackson, Captain of the Argo ll.
He leered at us. "I have never liked the English law and it's restrictions. I have always believed that people should be free to love who they want. As long as that person loves them back that is". He turned to Reyna and chuckled. "I can tell that your 'second' in command is ready to fight". The pirates snickered and hooted, like monkeys at a circus.
Jason pointed his sword at Perseus. "Prepare to die, Captain Jackson".
Perseus sighed. "So we're doing this". He turned o his crew. "Attack!". Jason leaped at Perseus who blocked his attacks with a yawn. Reyna and Thalia began to duel. I leaped forward to attack an Italian girl but the Pale boy stepped forward and blocked me.
"Yeah I don't think so" he snapped coily and raised his sword in front of him. "So, your Annabeth" he said as I deflected one of his blows. "I'm Nico".
I blinked and lunged. "How do you know?". He shrugged and pulled up his sword to block me.
"We have our ways". He pulled back his sword and I prepared to block him when someone let out a scream of pain. Nico turned towards the sound and I knocked the sword out of his hand. He put his hands up and backed away from me. I glanced at who ever had screamed. It was Reyna. Thalia had her pinned against the rail, with a sword to her throat.
Reyna scowled at Thalia. "Is this really necessary, Pinecone Face?". Pinecone Face?. Was I the only one confused here. I took a quick inventory of the battle. We were at a stalemate with the pirates, half of the battles won, half the battles lost.
Thalia chuckled "Come on R.A.R.A, it was fun, wasn't it?". She stepped back and held out her hand to Reyna. Reyna took her hand and stood on her feet. Then she did the absolutely, most unbelievable, thing ever. She pulled Thalia into a kiss. Jason sputtered and dropped his sword, which Perseus scooped up in an instant.
Nico stepped away from my sword and picked up his own. "Really, is now the time? Your making the people who don't have boyfriends or girlfriends feel very sad".
Reyna laughed and pulled away from Thalia. "Now, now, Nico. Am I not allowed to say hello?". She made her way across the ship and pulled Nico into a hug. "I missed all of you".
Jason sputtered and Perseus laughed. "I think you need to explain to your ex not really captain what's going on". He glanced at us and sighed. "Nico please tie up the prisoners". Nico smiled and pulled out a coil of rope.
I glared at the pirate captain. "You won't get away with this. You will be tried for your crimes".
He laughed. "But I already did".
