The first day at my new school is tomorrow, the first actual day of the school year. This is a big deal to me because my moms job requires her to move a lot, and in the past 17 years of my life I have yet to stay for the whole school year, start to finish.

This year my mother has promised that I can stay at the same school until I graduate. It makes me happy to know that I have such a fantastic mother, and that she was able to do this for me and my siblings.

"Magdalena!" My youngest sister Allebais shouts through five bedroom house that we are staying in.

"Allebasi-Ah!" I call back at her, making fun of how she pronounces the "a" at the end of my name.

"Where is my princess backpack?" She demands, barging into my room. For only being seven she had quite a loud set of lungs, and a major attitude.

"Last place I saw it was in your bedroom right by your bed. And school isn't until tomorrow silly."

"I know that. But I want to pack my lunch and put it in early, that way I'm all ready to go. " she explains as if it's obvious.

"Well if you know where your backpack is why don't you go and do that?" I ask her pointedly.

"I want help." She replies innocently. Sighing loudly I get off the bed, turning off my music as I pass the old crappy radio. I follow Allebasi to her little kiddy room, unsurprised that her backpack is right where I said it would be, and full to the bursting point with stuff.

I pick it up and then head downstairs. Mark, ( who's real name is Lucian Roberto Marcus Fletchy) is in the kitchen, fooling around with his guitar at the table. Ah that's just great. I forgot that my twin brother was going to be staying here. Putting the backpack on a random chair I open a drawer in hopes that it has silverware in it. Lucky me, it does.

"Is your lunch kit in the backpack?" I ask Allebasi. She nods her white-blond head as a response.

I grab it out and set the lunch kit on the counter. Then I turn to the fridge that just got into the house and stalked with food last weekend. Opening it I scan the contents for lunchbox food.

"Want a cheese string? And a pudding?" I ask her grabbing them from the fridge.

"Yup! And a nolar bar."

"Granola bar. And ok." I correct her without thinking. "Anything else?" She makes the strangest face I have ever seen (I think it's her "I'm thinking really hard" face.) then replies

"Candy!"

Acire takes that moment to enter the kitchen, an empty water bottle in her hands. " you don't get to take any of my candy to school so don't even think about it!" She grumps at Allebasi. Then she fills the neon pink water bottle full of tap water and adds juice powder, forcing the lid on. She glares at Allebasi before marching out of the kitchen again. Something has her in a bad mood, probably the fact that we only moved her less than two weeks ago, and she is used to the city.

"How about fruit instead? I know you like oranges." I ask my seven year old sister quickly.

"Okay. Thanks Magdalena." She replies before grabbing her backpack and lunch kit, shouting for Palena to play with her. I grab an apple from the fruit basket on the middle of the table and head back to my room. Not five seconds after I shut the door it's thrown open again.

"You gotta hide me!" Palena yelps desperately. "Allebasi wants to play dress up!" He shudders at the thought. Laughing at the idea that my blond haired grey eyed, most likely not yet two foot tall sister can make my 12 year old brother have a panic attack, I motion to the closet. He dives for it, and just in time.

"Maggy have you seen Palena? I want to play with him." She demands pushing the door open.

"No, he told me that if you ask, he's playing hide and seek. It's a big new house with lots of places, so it should be lots of fun." I tell her with a totally straight face.

She gives me a suspicious look with her grey eyes, then walks out of the room.

About fifteen seconds later Palena comes out of the closet. " thanks for saving me. What's up in older sister town?" He asks, launching himself onto my bed.

" getting rest and ready for school tomorrow. Got to make a good impression on all the country bumpkins I've seen around here. Oh, and let's not forget the fact that I can hardly believe that I get to stay here for a whole school year, and the fact that Mark is actually going to be in the same school as me for the first time in forever. (he use to live with my dad until my dad decided to drop him off here with us.)

"But Seriously, I've seen at least four people actually wearing cowboy hats!"

He laughs along with me, knowing full well that this is truly the middle of nowhere.

"Good luck with that. I'll keep the monsters occupied for you so that you can rest up. See you in the morning!" With that he picks his surprisingly tall self up off my bed and walks out into the hallway, closing the door behind him.

Thank goodness for amazing younger siblings. Now I can get down to business. Being as we just moved here recently I still have a bunch of unpacking to do. Most of my stuff is in big box piles around the room... I've only taken out the radio, my special blanket and about 4 outfits.

The first box pile I go over to has my book collection in it, so I leave it alone. I'll have to get Mark to build my bookcase over the weekend.

The next box pile has clothing in it. I search until i find the hangers box, then I get to work filling the closet that Palena had been hiding in. That doesn't take to long because I don't have a whole crazy amount of clothing. After that I find the stuffie and bedding box, and make my bed good and proper. I have a few drawing supplies, and so I set those up in the corner.

I have to move the radio off the last pile of boxes to get at it, and it's the silly stuff like a hanging laundry hamper thingy and some random wall stickers. It also has most of my old schoolwork in it. I trash the schoolwork, put the glowing wall stickers up around the green and gold room in a swirling star pattern, and hang the hamper up. Then I look around to see the result.

The walls look much better, the art supplies will be moved when Mark helps me with the bookshelf and desk I plan to set up, and other than that it looks fairly normal.

Sighing I set the ancient radios alarm for six o'clock, make sure that the time is correct, and turn the music on. Then I jump onto the bed and start drawing. Half an hour later I'm falling asleep and the drawing falls from my hands.
