Knowing that tomorrow is the first day of Senior year sucked. I didn't want my highschool life to be over. I actually enjoyed high school, even though it has put me through so much these past couple years.
My best friend turning into a werewolf, me being possessed by a weird thousand year old spirit, one of my closest friends dying and having to deal with growing up.
At the moment I was laying in bed, waiting for my best friend Scott to call me, to help him control his beta, Liam. Liam had always had trouble controlling himself, so every full moon Scott and I had to sacrifice our sleep to help Liam to control himself.
As I waited in my room for my phone, my mind started to wonder. What would my life be like if Peter never bit Scott? Would our town still be a hotspot for the supernatural? I was snapped out of my thinking once I heard my phone buzz, signalling a text from Scott, telling me to meet him at the reserve because he had chained Liam up. As I made my way down stairs I saw my dad slouched over the kitchen table looking at some documents.
"Dad?" I questioned, worried. His head slowly came up and he smiled softly at me and held his arms out as a gesture that he needed a hug. There were no words spoken between us, but I knew what he meant.
My dad knows about the supernatural and he's okay with it, he's just worried about what could happen to me. He doesn't want to lose me and sometimes that can make him a bit over protective, but I know that he means well, so I don't tend to think about it.
"Hey, dad I have to go, Scott and I are trying to help Liam," I said as I slowly removed myself from the hug. He nodded his head and patted my back and then went straight back to looking at the sheets of paper in front of him and I left the house, getting into Roscoe and driving to the reserve.

Once I arrived, I saw that Scott was chaining Liam to a tree. I immediately rolled my eyes. This was the plan? Great, I'm going to die. As Scott saw me, he quickly ran over and hugged me and I hugged back. "Hey, are you sure that you're okay with me going to catch up with Kira?" Scott asked. I nodded, it's not like I had anything better to do. Watching a werewolf with an IED, trying to control themself would make my night.

I think it had been a few hours since I arrived as it was still mildly light outside when I came and now the sun had set and the moon had risen. Liam was surprisingly well controlled and we had started talking, because I thought it would keep him grounded.
"Are you going to try out for lacrosse again?" I asked Liam as I twirled a stick around my fingers. He nodded his head. "Yeah, you?" He asked. I nodded slowly thinking what my life would be without lacrosse. Surprisingly I was good at the sport and last season Coach had said he might consider making me co-captains with Scott.
About five minutes after either of us had spoken, we heard a twig snap in the wood. Liam looked at me desperately, trying to convince me to let him go. "Rei, you can't go out there alone," Liam said. I hated that none of my friends thought I could defend myself. I walked over to Roscoe and pulled out my metal bat and held it up to Liam to show that I would be fine and then I walked into the woods.

I had been wandering around the woods for five minutes before I saw a figure leaning against a tree. It was a boy, he looked around my age. His hair stood out in different directions and was gelled, his eyes were a light sea green colour and he looked quite tall.
As I approached him, he turned around and smiled softly. I didn't smile back because this is a stranger. "What are you doing out here?" I snapped. He chuckled softly and then spoke. "You haven't changed since fourth grade," He spoke and it instantly confused me. "Do I know you?" I questioned. "Yeah we used to be friends before I left," He replied and that's when I put the dots together. "Theo?" I asked and felt tears coming to my eyes. I hadn't seen this boy since I was ten, yet the feelings I had for him were still present. He nodded his head and I immediately jumped forward and hugged him.
He stumbled back from the shock of me jumping on him, but quickly returned the hug. Once I stepped away from him, I felt my phone buzz and as I looked down at it, I saw a text from Scott. 'Where are you?' It read and I quickly responded and told him I would be there in five minutes. "Hey, do you wanna see Scott?" I asked Theo. He nodded and then we started walking towards the tree where Liam was tied up.

As Theo and I arrived at the tree, Scott's eyes shot up. "Rei, who's this?" Scott asked worried that I had brought a random stranger with me. "It's Theo. Theo Raeken from fourth grade," I said as I smiled brightly at Scott. Theo waved shyly at Scott while Scott nodded at him.
"So why are you back?" Scott asked. "I was skateboarding in my neighbour's empty pool and it was quite late and then this wolf came up and bit me. I had later found out that the wolf was a werewolf. I tried finding my alpha's pack but they had been slaughtered by a set of twins from the pack and my alpha died before my first full moon so I had to deal with that. I later heard about a True Alpha in Beacon Hills and when I found out that his name was Scott McCall I knew that I should come back. I wanna be a part of your pack, Scott." Theo told his story and Scott slowly nodded, thinking.
"Okay, it's something to think about," Scott said and then walked over to the tree that Liam was tied to and unwrapped the chains and Liam walked away from the tree and started to walk home. Liam waved to me and I quickly waved back before turning to Theo. "Have you unpacked your stuff at your house yet?" I asked. He shook his head. "No, I wanted to try and find Scott and well, you." Theo said and I felt a blush adorn my cheeks as I picked up at his casual flirting.
"Why me?" I asked worried that I wasn't thinking about the wrong thing and he meant something completely different. "You know, when I left Beacon Hills when I was ten, my final thought before I left was that if I ever came back, I would ask you on a date. I never comprehend what you did before I left," He said and I felt like my cheeks were on fire at this point. "Oh the kiss," I said quietly. He nodded his head. "Well obviously a lot has changed in eight years but I'm sure we could organise a time to catch up," I said, barely being able to look him in his eyes. He nodded his head and quickly hugged me and I hugged back. We stayed in each other's embrace, until my phone beeped and I saw a text from my dad, telling me to get home.
"I should go, I have to at least get a little sleep," I said and Theo nodded his head quickly before leaning down to kiss me cheek. "I'll see you tomorrow," He said. I nodded and then sped walked over to Roscoe, driving off and waving to Theo as I left.
