We could see the woods behind our house through the window in grandma's house. I was around 8 at that time. When we moved to this house, grandma persisted on getting this room. This room was pretty gloomy because of the tall shadows of the trees, so mother didn't really want grandma to have that room but in the end mother had to give in.

Grandma mostly stared into the woods through the window. Every time I asked grandma what she was looking at, she would tell me, she was speaking with my uncle. I heard her talking gibberish quite a number of times. Though I was creeped out by it, it didn't stop me from going to her room.

When I asked my mother who my uncle was and why did he come to only meet my grandma and not us, she just shushed me and said not to speak about him. Seeing no avail, I asked my father. My father flinched before answering me how I knew about someone who died 12 years ago. Uncle and father were twins. He died a very unfortunate death. Due to short circuit, the house was set on fire and he couldn't escape in time. The one who was the most affected by it was grandma who lost her beloved son and she is said to hallucinate often about my uncle.

That solved the mystery of grandma talking gibberish and I also left it at that. 2 years after that, grandma perished. We left the room as it was and didn't mess with it. Among the things my grandma left me, There was her wooden cane she used. A few weeks after that, some guests came to our house. My mother told me to go sleep at my grandma's house. I didn't really have any problem with that. Nothing out of the ordinary happened in the course of years so there was nothing to be afraid of. When I turned off the lights and went over the bed, my eyes instinctively darted towards the window. What I saw sent shivers down my spine. I saw two black silhouettes staring at me outside the window. My hands and feet became cold. All I could make out was two pair of red eyes and two large grins. One looked extremely similar to grandma. She was calling me. Entranced by something, I made my way to the window. Then I heard them talking, "We will be waiting for you. 15 more years to go." Their smiles became wider and they just disappeared in a blink after that. I don't remember what happened after that or how I went back to my bed but I vividly remember those words till this.

I guess they were right after all. Couple of years after that I was diagnosed with leukemia and the doctor said, I wouldn't live past 25.

I'm now 27 years old and I look at my house through the window and make sure to talk with my mother. I also tell her that she has a long way to go. But for some reason she looks at me weirdly and shakes continuously. Did I do something perhaps? I'm also quite happy since I got to meet grandma again and uncle really looks identical to father. The only sad thing is that my mother treats me like I don't exist. Well she will come to me too. I just need to wait.
