Chapter 2

"Brother Azriel!"

A feminine voice called out, waking me up from my slumber, and the first thing I saw was a beautiful face.

Her skin was smooth and fair, her bright violet long hair falls past her shoulder, and brilliant crimson red eyes that could entrance you with just a mere glance.

But I've encountered those types of passive powers dozens of times back in my world and have developed some sort of resistance, you could say.

"What is it, my dear Faleria." I stood up from my bed and look at the beauty stand before me

This beauty is Faleria der Luciferius, my younger cousin of 3 years.

"Brother Azriel, breakfast has been made." She says in a soft voice.

Her hands were clasped together in between those two mounds of hers, it also didn't help that she wore a dress that greatly emphasizes her slender but curvaceous figure.

(ignore the horns)

I will admit that her appearance right now is dangerous, but I am not a degenerate that would taint my own cousin with his own sickening carnal desires.

"My apologies, dear Faleria. To make you went out of your way to wake your foolish brother up." I look down in shame.

"Don't worry, brother, I am always happy to be of some use for brother Azriel." She exclaimed as her hands quickly waved in front of her in embarrassment.

The edges of my mouth turned up as I saw this charming spectacle.

"Please dear sister, if something is bothering you do not hesitate to ask this foolish brother. It's the least I could do." I stood up, my height overshadows hers significantly and gently patted her head.

"A-alright brother." She hung her head with a noticeable tint on her face. "I-ill be going now, brother."

I nodded then she went out of the room.

Yawning while looking out the window, the sun shines its morning light into my room. I got myself ready by taking a quick wash and changing myself into the proper attire.

The fashion sense of this world or this state, in particular, seems to be that of the Renaissance and early Edwardian era from my previous world (The Edwardian era is the Victorian Era of the previous world)

After wearing my shirt, I left my room and made my way to get breakfast.

Walking through the big hallways that are illuminated by the morning shine. I recalled the conclusion that I've drawn before.

I transported into this world four days ago, from which I've gathered already plentiful information because of my aggressive search for any information about this world.

I'm currently in the body of Azriel Devin der Luciferius, the bastard son of Octavius der Luciferius and an unknown man. Since women's adultery was strictly forbidden according to this country's strict society, It eventually led to the execution of his mother.

Sympathetic to the young boy, his uncle, the influential Lord Gryphus, decided to adopt into his family. Making him an illegitimate son in the Devin clan of House Luciferius.

Since he was born a bastard, most of the people in the estate treated him with a cold attitude, and it was common to see him new bruises pop up every morning. Some people treated the boy kindly like Faleria, but they rarely have the time to meet him.

So the boy mostly spent his time in the garden taking care of the estate's flowers or with Faleria. Despite the cold atmosphere he lived in, he's still grateful to Lord Gryphus for giving him this place to live in.

And that leads us to our current situation.

My circumstances of reincarnation could be worse, but it is also not the best. I'm practically blocked from any more vital information from the other people living in this estate however I do have a positive starting relationship with the few powerful people here.

Since I'm practically in the dark about everything, I should probably start by asking the few people that are still willing to talk to find more information about this particular world and once I have collected enough, I could base my plan from then on.

I nodded to reaffirm my decision and continue walking to get my first food of the day.

I opened the door of the kitchen and I was immediately greeted with the tense atmosphere as soon as I walked inside. My body started to be a little bit agitated by these people that already turned sour the first thing in the morning, but I managed to cool it and quickly get my plate and then walking out to the usual spot where I eat.

Reaching the back of the gardener shack where my spot to eat. Sitting down on the boxes, I looked at my breakfast and it was just simple bread with beans and two slices of salted pork. I've had worse meals back in my old world, so I didn't complain much and just gulped it all.

As to why am I eating here even though I am technically still the son of the lord of this estate is kind of complicated, but long story short is I'm still an illegitimate son and will probably either be a servant or kicked out and so there is no point of me learning the etiquette for nobles.

Once I finished eating that, I put the plate beside me and lean on the wall to take in the breathtaking sensation of the beautiful garden. The estate garden was shining with colorful color from the unnatural yet pretty flowers that all across it, from even a glance you know that this garden is well taken care of and loved. While I lack the knowledge or the expertise to distinguish between a good and an awful garden, I can confidently say that this one is lovely.

I sighed since I realized I've never actually taken the time to appreciate the beauty of my previous world since I was too busy fighting that god-forsaken war. Too busy leading men into the masses of steel and smoke, too busy cutting a person in half with my saber, too busy washing the blood of my sleeves after. Deeply regretting that I didn't have the chance to live my life after that war, It must've looked serene and peaceful huh.

"Ah, there ya ar' my boy." A familiar voice called out to me, breaking my train of thoughts.

"Ah've been lookin' fer ye all 'round the place."
