You are My Safe Place

Chapter 2

Nessa pov:

After few walks, we reached the café. James runs inside the café in excitement to meet Rose and Tony. When I reached inside I saw James was giving hug to Rose and Tony. I smiled at them. They have seen James growing up when he was a child.

“Champ how are you doing?” Tony asked.
“I’m great Toto,” James said. James always uses to call tony Toto.
“Ok boys now you guys go and complete your homework I will get u guys chocolate cake and chocolate milkshake” rose said with a smile on her face.

Rose went inside the kitchen to get their snacks. James went to his regular booth which is his favorite place and Rose also keep that booth private just for James. I don’t know what I would have done if they did not help me in my hard times.

By thinking about it tears come to my eyes. I wept them and turned towards the counter to start my work. Tony come in front of me with a smile on his face. He is a kind guy. He likes to take care of my brother when I'm doing works. He has grey eyes just like his father who works in another country. But his hair is just like his mother's dirty blonde. He is 5’9 feet. Any girl can fall for him. In the café, most of them come to see Tony while he is severing them. Sometimes it also flirts with them but Rose would shout at him.

“Sorry N today I won't be able to help you in the café tomorrow I have an exam and it's important if it was not that important I would have helped you I'm sorry,” he said with a sad smile on his face.
“No T it's fine you should go and study for tomorrow I can handle here and today there are not many customers so it's fine you go and sit with jimmy,” I said with a smile.
“Thank you N,” he said and took his bag and went to sit opposite James.

I started with my work. Served few customers like I said today there were not many customers. After a few hours, I saw that James and Tony they have had their snacks and drinks. They were studying.

James was a naughty boy but after mom and dad left us he is silent.

I went inside the kitchen Rose was handling the counter. I cleaned the dish and kitchen. After few hours my feet were hurting  I saw the clock which was hunged on the kitchen wall it was 7 pm. My shift got over. I took off my apron and hunged on the hook which was on the wall.

I come back to the café saw that James has slept on the table. Tony was still studying but looks exhausted and Rose was reading a magazine.

“Rose I guess I should leave I will see you tomorrow,” I said to her.
“Ok kid but I forgot to tell you that tomorrow café will be closed” she replied.

I looked at her in confused why tomorrow café would be closed because there is no holiday. She saw that I had a confused face.

“Tomorrow Tony's dad is coming back so I thought that we would spend time with him and you also look tired take some rest I will see you on Friday,” she said.
“Thank you Rose I will see you on Friday and enjoy tomorrow” I smiled at her went towards the booth where James and tony are there.

I reached towards the booth. Tony saw me first he stretched his arm and yawn he looks tired.

"How's your study going on?" I said to him.
"It's going good but scared for tomorrow," he said with a nervous face.
"Don't worry you will do best" I said and give him thumbs up.
"I should go I will see you on Friday," I said and went to wake up James.
"I will drop you guys home," Tony said.
"No. You have an exam tomorrow and you look exhausted and you know that  I don't stay far it's just 10 mins walk." I said to him I don't want him to come to my house just to walk me it's few blocks away.
"Ok fine but you take care of yourself," he said. He has always been kind.
