Alright, let me make these clear really quick, cuz as much as I hate to say it, I have to.

1. Sistine's letter was not a curse to Ray.
Thank frick I figured that out sooner, cuz if I didn't, this would have exploded into a giant mess of inaccuracies. (Honestly, I'm surprised that nobody's blasted me with evidence yet)
The last chapter was basically Sistine's attempt at a redemption arc. She did some pretty messed up things, and this whole hospital shebang was her way of making up for it.
Was it a good decision? No.
In fact, it just made Ray feel worse.
And I'm excessively peeved by it.

2. Sistine isn't an angel.
As much as you guys say she is, "angelic" is written NOWHERE in her aura.
If I were to describe her aura to you guys, it would be "pristine as a snowflake to those she loves, as salty as the sea to everyone else."
She is a sass child.
I have no idea where I or even everyone else got the angel idea, but she's a sass child. She has been since the second chapter of the book.
And I would much rather keep Lurie 5,000 feet away from her, if I want to protect my baby's fragile heart (Lurie's 100% turbulence level isn't gonna be able to handle Sistine's sass energy, believe me)--

3. The second book was supposed to be my attempt of changing Sistine into someone better.
Did I succeed? No.
Did I try? Yes.
Did I get too frustrated with Sistine along the way?
Y e s.
I'm sorry, she just feels too overpowered, now that everyone loves and acknowledges her. It's like Emma's plot armor, but worse.
At least, that's what the aura feels like.
I swear, it felt so toxic that I could barely even breathe whenever I tried to write her book. I just didn't know how to further develop her, now that everybody loves her. I don't know how to make the world crash down on her again, and it's like her character development just flatlined on me completely.
I felt stuck. Suffocated, even.
I genuinely didn't want to write the book anymore, because emotionally, I couldn't breathe. The pressure was suffocating me, and nothing seemed to work anymore.
But I don't want to let this story go without you guys knowing the true ending, so here's the plot for the second (and last) book of The Choice of Fate.
Quick warning: it's cliche and cringey as heck, so please proceed at your own risk

Remember when I said that the story has a song reference?
This is it.
