Maya's POV

I wake up to the sound of Carina vomiting. She is 18 weeks pregnant but she still has morning sickness.

I walk into the bathroom, and sit next to her, and rub her back.

"Hi babe," I say. "How are you feeling other than this?"

"Well, it's better now that I see you, bambina." She says. "But this small one is becoming very bothersome. Always pressing on my bladder, and kicking me when I am busy."

She wipes her mouth, and flushes the toilet. I give her a hug, and I help her up.

"I can make you something to eat if you want?" I say.

"Maya, I love you, but you are a terrible cook. I would end up puking all over again." She says, and I swat her hand playfully.

"We have some leftover brioche I will heat up." She says. "Let me brush my teeth quickly, because I really want to kiss you right now, but I also just threw up, so I do not know how much you would enjoy that."

"Okay," I say, standing behind her at the sink, my arms around her waist, resting on her barely there belly.

We walk into the kitchen, and Carina puts some brioche buns into the oven, and heats them up.

"I have a.. bun in the oven!" Carina says. "Yeah, you do." I say. "Wait, Carina, you got a saying right!" I wrap my arms around her, and kiss her neck. "I did!" Carina says.

I sit next to her at the table, and we spread some butter on the bread, and we eat it together.

"Ouch, bambino," Carina says. "Hey, you okay?" I ask. She smiles at me, and takes my hand and places it on her stomach.

"The bambino is kicking." I feel a small kick under my fingertips, and I smile at her.

Carina leans her head on my shoulder, and I wrap my arms around her shoulders. I kiss her forehead, and I leave to go fight fires, and Carina goes to the hospital.

I walk into the station, and Andy is walking down the stairs. "Hey Captain, what's up?" She asks. "Not much," I say. "Carina is still puking a lot," "But it will be worth it once my godchild is born." She says. "Hey, I never promised that." I say, and I walk away into my office and change into my uniform, and walk into the beanery to get everyone ready for lineup.

"Hey everyone lets go, time for line up, meet me in the barn in 5!"

We walk down the stairs, and everyone lines up in front of the engine. I go down the line, and check everyone off.

Carina's POV:I walk into the hospital, and start checking on my patients.

"Hi Carina," Jo Wilson says.

"Good morning Jo," I say. "No babies last night?"

"Nope, but there is a mom who is at 9 centimeters right now, I checked on her a few minutes ago, everything looks fine."

"Okay. I will go take a look, and I will let you know when a baby is coming."

I walk off to the bathroom, because the baby is pressing on my bladder, amd makes me have to pee every 30 minutes.

After that, I walk into the patients room.

"Hello, I am Dr. Carina DeLuca, and I will be delivering your baby today, are you comfortable with a quick exam?" I ask.

"Yeah, sure." She says. "I'm Allison."

"Nice to meet you Allison," I say, as I quickly examine her cervix. "Well, it looks like you are now fully dilated, so I you should start crowning very soon, and then you can have your baby."

"Thank god, I am ready to meet this baby." Allison says. "My boyfriend left me when I told him I was pregnant, so now at least I get to meet my daughter."

"I am sorry about that, are you experiencing any discomfort?"

"Yeah, a little."

"Well, sometimes, masturbating can help with that pain, if you are up for it."

"Oh, no definitely not, I am fine."

"Okay, just a suggestion." I say, and I quickly take a look at her pelvis again. "Well, I can see your baby's head, so it is time to push."

"Wow, uh, okay, lets do this."

I quickly page Jo, who walks in to the room a few seconds later.

"On a count of three, I want you to push." Jo says. "One, two three."

Allison pushes, and the baby shoots out and lands in my arms. I clamp the cord and Jo cuts it.

I hand the baby to Allison, and finish delivering the placenta. We do a quick checkup, and print out the birth certificate.

I walk out of the room, and sit down in the doctors lounge. I check my phone, and see a message from Maya.

Bambina💞💞: Hey babe, are you feeling better?

Me: yes, thank you. no more nausea.

Bambina💞💞: Good. I love you

Me: i love you too bambina

I deliver a few more babies, and then head home. Maya is still at the station, and won't be back until tomorrow morning.

I make some lasagna, and I sit on the couch and watch a movie, when Maya calls me. She does this when she is at the station overnight, and isn't on a call, especially since I got pregnant.

"Ciao Maya, how is work?" I say to her.

"It's good, no fires, I went out on aid car for this old guy who collapsed, but thats it." She says. "How about you? Any big cases?"

"No, not really, everything is pretty much the same, delivered a few babies, nothing too exciting, and I made lasagna, I could bring some to the station if you want."

"Yeah, that sounds good. See you in a few minutes?"

"See you soon bambina."

I hang up, and I get in my car and drive to Station 19, and I walk into the station, and knock on the door of Maya's office. She opens it, and I kiss her. I hand her the plastic container filled with lasagna, and we walk upstairs to the kitchen, where the rest of the station is eating.

"Oh, hey Carina," Ben says. "Hey!" Andy says. "What's up Carina?" Victoria says. The rest of the station says hi, and Maya and I sit down at the table, and Maya wraps her arm around my waist, and rests it on my thigh as we eat the lasagna.
