Audrey's P.O.V.

The beach was practically deserted when we arrived. It was a somewhat private beach to begin with, but when you add in the fact that it was nearly seven o'clock on a Tuesday night, it made it pretty obvious why there were so few people.

Chris and I didn't sit idle for long. As soon as we'd finished the little picnic Chris had packed for us, we were up and playing in the water, Chris throwing me around as the waves crashed over us. We laughed and played, our earlier conversation slowly slipping from my mind as joy replaced the dread.

After nearly two hours of nonstop swimming I was absolutely knackered, and Chris could tell. He carried me back to shore, gently laying me down on our blanket before settling himself down behind me so I could lean back against him.

The view was awe-inspiring. The deep pinks and purples mixing with the blue and orange as the sun sank slowly into the ocean. In that moment, I didn't think life could get anymore perfect than it was right then. I felt Chris' arms tighten around me slightly, his body shifting so that he could kiss just behind my ear.

"You're the most beautiful woman I've ever seen." He whispered gently, moving his kisses down to my neck. "I feel like I need to pinch myself sometimes."

"You need to pinch yourself? Chris, I'm the lucky one." I scoffed at his preposterous idea that I was the prize in this relationship. He was the one that could have literally anyone he wanted. He was the one with the perfect body, and incredibly successful career. He was the one who always knew exactly what to do to make me feel special.

"I guess we'll just have to agree to disagree for now." He chuckled before placing his hand on my jaw to bring my lips to his. Even though I swear I'd kissed his lips a thousand times now, the rush of electricity that the tender touch sent down my spine never got old.

As the kiss became more fervent, I turned in his arms to push him down to the ground, my legs straddling his hips, and my hands on either side of his head. We continued to snog for a while longer before he pulled away slowly, his eyes opening to search my face as if looking for something. A light blush creeped onto my cheeks when he reached up and tucked a stray piece of my hair behind my ear, his hand lingering on my cheek.

"Chris?"

"Hm?"

"What are we?" The question seemed to catch him off guard slightly, but he recovered quickly and gave me a small smile.

"We're whatever you want us to be, Sweetheart." With that, he locked our lips once more, his hands leaving my face to grab my hips and grind them against his, a surge of pleasure shooting straight through me as I involuntarily repeated the motion on my own.

Our breaths quickened, his tongue shooting into my mouth to meet mine, slowly caressing it once the two met. The rest of the world faded away the longer I remained in his embrace. I was completely enraptured by him and his kiss. I didn't think about the fact that we were on a beach, a public beach no less, where there were people meandering around enjoying the same sunset that we were.

It wasn't until I felt a long finger dip beneath the waistband of my swim bottoms that I snapped out of my mild trance.

"We can't do this here, Chris."

"You're right, sand and sex don't mix." He let out a breathy laugh, our noses still touching, our lips still brushing.

"I was more worried about the people still wandering around."

"Yeah, that too. Come on, let's go back." His motions were quick and fluid as he stood to his feet, offering his hand to help me once he was upright. We made quick work of gathering all of our things, not without a few longing gazes passed between us.
