Life's Like These

New House!?!

I grabbed my guitar in my hand and started to strum to the beat of the loud music in my ears, the song 'Iris' By: The Goo Goo Dolls was playing. I herd a knock on my door and quickly took out my head phones and put my guitar down.

"Come in." I said loud enough for the person on the other side of the door to hear me. The door quickly opened and I saw my mom and dad at the door.

"Sweetheart, we need to talk to you." My dad said entering my room and sitting on the bed next to me. Something had to be wrong, for both of them to be in the same room together. There always fighting and yelling at each other. So I low something's up.

"What's wrong. Something has to be wrong." I asked getting up and standing away from my mom and dad, I looked then in the eyes. They turned there heads not to keep eye contact.

"Honey, your 16 almost 17 we think you can handle what we are going to tell you." My mother let out hesitantly.

"Go on. Tell me." It wasn't like me to have an attitude with my parents but them not telling me, was scaring me. I am usually a shy girl that doesn't like to talk to anyone.

"Me and your father, have went our separate ways, we have decided that the best thing for us to do right now is to separate. You can choose to go with me or your dad. So who will it be?" She asks me all in one statement.

What am I suppose to say? If you had to choose you mother or father who would you choose? I love my mom I do. I love my dad. I love them both, but I know that the decision has to be made. My dad will probably never be home and will be working, and my mom well she always keeps a close eye on me.

"I choose..." I paused, and they both looked up at me. "Mom." She smiled and looked at me not letting me finish. She went to say something hit I cut her off. "I'm love you so much, my mind tells me to go with you but my heart tells me dad." I always follow my heart, because even though your heart is on the left side, it's always right.
