"Well...i guess we've gotten the final finger.."
Itadori chuckled lightly with a sad tone. He looked down at the 20th finger on his hands. He sighed and put the finger in his pocket before Sukuna could eat it from his hands.
He looked up at his half-beaten up friends, the first, second, third years teachers, and even some allies he had made. All of them were sitting on the ground, with straight faces and a shadow casting their ove their eyes. They kept looking down at the ground without saying a single word.
Usually, the typical trio, Gojo, Itadori and Nobara, would celebrate after successfully completing a mission despite the fact that they were mostly beaten half to death. They would usually be so damn ecstatic to have completed their mission. But now, none of them had that energy anymore. Not because of their tiredness but because of him, Itadori. While most would have felt relief, success or happiness, they felt sadness, emptiness and sorrow instead. Sorrow that they were going to lose a dear friend. Emptiness that they were going to lose something which completed the puzzle piece in their lives. Gojo didn't even have the energy to goof around anymore, neither did Nobara. Although the others weren't as close to him as the first years and Gojo, Itadori changed their lives. He was their precious jem, their sunshine who could lit an entire room on fire with his smile and determination. His will to help anyone in need even though it could cost him, his recklessness could even save the day. All in all, he changed them. He changed them to be better, to be heroes, to not give up hope. He was always there for them. He even managed to change some of his once enemy's hearts to the greater good.
Seeing him fade away from existence in this world would leave a hole in their hearts.
They knew that that day would come, when Itadori would get executed...but they were just not prepared for that day to happen. It felt like fate was being cruel to them. After all, they sort of expected their fate to be horrible, since they could probably die from a mission. However, losing someone like this...being executed, their sunshine dying. They knew that finghting curses would be dangerous as they had a huge chance of dying but...Itadori would be executed...they just couldn't handle it. They can't seem to differenciate it but it felt much worse to get executed.
"Hey! You shouldn't look so down. We finally completed our mission so why not celebrate back at home. We can finally rid the existence of Sukuna!"
Itadori said, grinning down at them, hoping that it would lighten the mood even by a little.
Thinking about his words that were meant to cheer them up, they knew he was right. Instead of miserably staring at the ground with every passing second, they should cherish them with the time they had left with Itadori. They should celebrate their completion of finding all of the finger's that belonged to the curse who is embedded in Itadori's soul.
They stood up and looked at Itadori with a soft smile.
"YES! LET'S GO"
With that, they jumped up and punched their fists up in the air. They slowly walked to their school with a much more cheerful atmosphere. They were now filled with laughter and happiness, putting aside all the negativity away and enjoying their precious time together...
