Alex POV
We ran out of the shop laughing. Tom shouting are names as we run with the food we stole from his shop. We did this about ones a week but never got in trouble because my da is the soon to be mayor. I always got a lectured when I got home about a "good image"We got onto the next street and stopped from being out of breath. I put my hand on my heels and looked up when she calls my name with that beautiful voice. I looked up at Ari Smith the most beautiful girl in town with her short brown hair and big brown eyes. "Thanks Alex" she says sweetly before running off and i follow, I don't know why it means so much to her we were just doing it for fun.
We reach the lake and put down the food bags. This is are spot I meet ari here for the first time when she first moved here. She was crying I never found out why she was. It's peaceful here and the lake is cold so on this hot summer day all I want to is jump in the water with her. It's like she can read my mind sometimes ari looks and me and then starts to run along the deck fully dressed and she jumps Without a second thought I did the same. I would do anything for her.
The evening sunset glowing on her face and show she is thinking. Ari is never been a talkative person but I don't mind but sometimes I just want to hear her innocence sweet voice. I am normally very talkative but around her I like being quit.
I walk her back to her house which is only a few mins form my house but in completely different standards of houses. We walk the back way behind the bushes and down a old path so nobody can see me. As I walk behind her she looks more sadder that usual. I tap her on the shoulder and she turn and stops quickly. We look at eachother then I remember why I stopped her. I cleared my trough as my voice is starting to break " can we play in your house today" she looked at me with a bit confusion as to why I asked. "Why" she asked clearly. I speaked again trying to sound more confident " we could play with your siblings" she tough about it for what feels like hours for a 13 year old boy.
"Ok but thought the window" all the times I been in her house I have never got in tho the door. I wasn't there as much as she was at my house but then she was in my house nobody was home. I nodded and we start walking into her estate.
The estate was called Woodslip and is full of house packed together I used to be scared to come in here but now i am used to the shouting and odd gun shot. It was like a big family I liked it.
Everybody ether high five or said hello to ari it was like she was famous. People ether gave me a dirty look or said a quick hello it was understandable I was not form around here and my da can be a bit of a snob sometimes but I am not like him I would rather live here with no money than in my big house.
We climbed onto her roof out side her window and slides it open the second she enter he room she started giving out to rivers her older brother for been in her room. It is funny watching her hit him with no impact. The most she very talk is with rivers.
He is only 15 but has the muscle of a adult and is much taller than me which is not hard cause I am small. He had short brown hair like ari they kinda look like twins.
Rivers just noticed me and push ari away with no effort needed. "Hey dude you still following my sister around" ari gives him a light bunch but I just laugh at her. I straight my back and speak clean "yes sir" they both laugh at me and river ruffles my hair before walk towards the door. He turns around "remember to handle your business" she just rolled her eyes and I looked at her confused but before I could ask her. Her twin siblings came run in and pushed me to the floor.
all four of use tuck turns play on river's Xbox. At on point me and ari were on the bed and the twins in front playing mario cart. I dropped my hand to my side not realising how close are hand were. She must have noticed too and i brush my pinky finger along her soft hand. I can see her getting tense. We did that for a while before findly slowly interlock are hands. She had soft warm hand that felt safe.
We had holed hands before but not like this always when running away form trouble or jumping in the river. I had never even kissed a girl.
she broke the touch quick and got up without even looking at me. I felt all of suddenly cold and it was the middle of a heatwave it was weird.
Ari went to put the twins to bed and rivers asked me to help him with the food we got. I liked rivers he was funny and was like a big brother. We chat for ages and my talkie side came out.
I was about to open a door to see if it was the bathroom but instead ari and river jumped in front of me scaring me a little and I stepped back. Rivers looked piss off. "Don't open them doors" he barked at me.
Ari looked at me then looked at rivers. Without looking at me she asked " go wait for me in my room" I didn't want to leave her here she raised her voice "Alex go" without a second thought I didAfter I closed her door I listened to the shouting of mostly rivers hearing bits of it.
"This is why nobody aloud in the house" river shouted "especially him" it went quit. I should leave They don't want me hear. Just I was on the roof I hear her voice. "Alec" it's what everyone else calls me but her I don't mind her calling me Alex. I turn and hide my smile.
I heal at the window so we are level. "Sorry" she says smiling a rare thing she does. We look at eachother and I look at her lips. I have always wanted to kiss her is this my chance.
She read my mind and kiss my softly and I smile under her quick kiss. We pull away
I have a big cheese smile and she looks sad again. "Why you always sad?"I ask.
"I tell you tomorrow" and with that she close the windows and I ran home looking forward to that conversationthat conversation didn't come the next day
