Derek takes a breath. He takes the ring box out of her hand and faces it towards her, "Will you marry me?"

Emily stares at Derek for a moment, but then soon responds overjoyed,

"Yes! Yes!"

Derek slips the ring on her finger and kisses her. Emily puts the hollowed books down and kisses him back passionately. Emily falls back onto the couch and lets Derek take charge. She manages to mutter in between kisses, "I love you."

"I love you too," Derek says back. The two celebrate together all night.

During the buttcrack of dawn, Emily receives a call from Penelope, "Well? How did it go?"

"Huh?" Emily rolls over groggily to check the time, "It's 5:30 in the morning, Penelope... What do you need?"

"Did Derek do it?" Penelope sits on the edge of her seat.

Emily looks down at the ring, "Yes, Penelope. He did. You knew?"

Penelope squeals happily. She calms down to say, "Who do you think helped with the rose petals?"

"Oh, Derek's about to wake up. When we come in today we'll tell the team," Derek rolls over as Emily hangs up, "Bye, PG."

"But wait!" Penelope is cut off.

Derek smiles, "Well, good morning."

Emily rolls back over and meets his eyes, "Good morning indeed."

"How's my fiance?" Derek asks.

Emily reponds, "I'm doing great. I can't believe it." Emily thinks back, "Is this why you met with my mother?"

"What can I say?" Derek shrugs his shoulders and rolls off the bed gracefully. He checks his phone and gasps, "You know how we put our phones on silent last night?"

"Yeah..." Emily sits up.

Derek sighs and looks her in the eye, "I missed 23 calls and 45 texts from the team. We had a case. We're supposed to meet them in Wilmington, Delaware. There is a car waiting at work."

Emily immediately starts to scramble. She gets dressed in old clothes she left there for cases like this. The two make their way to Derek's car. Emily mentions, "We are not playing the HYPE ME UP DAWG playlist. It's not right for the mood. Let's just listen to the radio."

"Whatever you say," Derek turns on the radio and pulls out of his driveway.

They make their way to work and hop in the left behind car. Emily smiles and takes the keys, "I'm driving. No way you are driving me to Delaware in this beast of a car."

"But..." Derek pretends to be shot jokingly.

Emily puts the keys in the ignition and turns to start the car. Derek and Emily drive off to Wilmington all by their lonesome.

Aaron meets them outside the police station, "Give me one good reason I shouldn't transfer you both."

"Woah..." Derek seems shocked, "Hotch where is this coming from?"

"The one rule was to not let your relationship get in the way of work and that is exactly what you did," Aaron frowns.

Emily holds up her hand, "We were a little busy last night."

"Congratulations, but that is no excuse," Aaron starts walking inside. He turns around and asks, "Do you want the profile or not?" Emily and Derek look at each other then back at Aaron. They start hustling towards him.

Aaron gives the profile which simultaneously informs Derek and Emily. JJ and Spencer pull her aside, "Is that a ring I see?"

Emily nods and their mouths drop. Both say, "Congratulations and give her a hug.

Dave walks over, "Why are we hugging?" Emily shows him her ring and smiles, "Brava! Congratulations, Emily. I must congratulate the other half, too." David walks over to Derek and hugs him.

Aaron taps on Emily's shoulder and leads her into a more quiet area. Aaron says softly, "I'm sorry if I sounded harsh, but I really am happy for you both."

"I know," Emily smiles, "You wouldn't have said it if you didn't mean it."

Aaron smirks and tilts his head towards the rest of the team signaling she go back.

After a long week, another case comes in, then another, and then one more. They ended up going to Delaware, Pennsylvania, Maine, and Michigan. With a total of 53 bodies throughout six weeks.

As they arrive home Emily gets sick. JJ pulls her aside to Penelope's cave. JJ hands her a pregnancy test, "Here, take this."

Penelope squeals, "You're preggers?"

"No. No," Emily hands JJ the test. JJ refuses the test. Emily goes on, "I'm not pregnant. The last time we had downtime was... 6 weeks ago... And it's only the flu."

JJ hands the test back to Emily and explains, "You have morning sickness, not the flu. You have also been asking for pancakes with Vermont maple syrup. That would be cravings."

"Plus, you're glowing. More than usual," Penelope adds.

"Fine," Emily takes the test and marches to the bathroom, "You're lucky I had a bottle of water on the flight here." JJ laughs at her remark. Emily mentions while she closes the stall door, "Why did you have this so readily available?"

JJ answers, "I just had a few extra from the box. I thought I was pregnant a little while ago."

Penelope asks, "Why didn't you tell us?"

"I just didn't feel like I needed to," JJ responds as Emily leaves the stall. She washes her hands and sets a timer on her watch.

Emily slides down the wall, "What if it's positive?"

"Then we'll have a new member of the team, unless you wanna... which I totally support by the way. Your body, your choice, lovie," Penelope speaks up.

Emily pipes in, "Not again." JJ and Penelope tilt their heads in confusion. Emily explains, "I was fifteen and in Italy. I was doing what was best for me."

"Wow, that must have been a lot. Especially at such a young age," JJ tries to help her become less tense.

The timer dings, she gets up and flips the stick. She stares at it for a few moments until, "I'm pregnant."
