hello! this chapter is dedicated to words that will appear throughout the story. it will include the definition of creatures/monsters, gods/goddesses, and other terms you might not be familiar with in Greek Mythology stories! and if you forget as you read, you can always go back to this chapter :D

i highly suggest you to read this chapter if you aren't familiar with some of them, and if you choose not to read it fully knowing you don't know, then don't ask later!

Greek Gods, Goddesses, Titans & Giants

Zeus: god of the sky, thunder, lightning, kingship, honor, and justice; the king of Olympus

Poseidon: god of the sea, storms, earthquakes, droughts, floods, and horses

Hades: god of the dead and riches; ruler of the Underworld

Hestia: goddess of the family and home, hearth, domesticity, virginity and the state

Hera: goddess of women, marriage, childbirth, and familial love

Demeter: goddess of the harvest, grain, sacred law, and seasons

Persephone: goddess of the Season, Springtime, vegetation, and flower

Aphrodite: goddess of beauty, love, desire, passion, pleasure, and fertility

Hephaestus: god of forges, fire, technology, craftsmen, sculptors, volcanoes, and blacksmiths

Athena: goddess of wisdom, civilization, mathematics, strategy, defensive warfare, crafts, the arts, and skill

Ares: god of war, violence, battle lust, and rage

Apollo: god of sun, light, healing, disease, plague, music, art, poetry, archery, reason, knowledge, truth, and prophecy; twin brother of Artemis

Artemis: goddess of the hunt, archery, wilderness, forests, the Moon, radiance, and maidenhood; twin sister of Apollo

Hermes: god of roads, travel, loads, gymnasiums, athletes, diplomacy, orators, thieves, commerce, trade, and invention; the messenger of gods

Dionysus: god of grape-harvest, wine, madness, parties, religious ecstasy, and theater

Hecate: goddess of the Mist, magic, witchcraft, sorcery, crossroads, necromancy, night and the moon

Iris: goddess of the Rainbow and also the messenger of gods (occasionally delivers messages for demigods)

Hypnos: god of sleep

Nike: goddess of victory

Hebe: goddess of youth and forgiveness

Nemesis: goddess of balance, retribution, and vengeance

Tyche: goddess of luck, chance, destiny, and fortune

Gaea: primordial goddess of the Earth, a.k.a. Mother Earth, Mother of the Titans and Giants

Tartarus: primordial god of the abyss, Father of the Giants; the deepest, darkest pit in the Underworld

Koios: Titan of Farsight, intellect, and knowledge; Titan of the North
