" I don't have any experience in planning an event Ciara. Please, don't make me do this", I told my best friend and roommate Ciara Jones. But, she is hell bent on sending me to plan an event for a billionaire company .
I'm an orthopedic doctor who tends to do everything that is related to muscles and here she is making me do a job, which I know will be a disaster if I did it. That billionaire will surely send me to prison for making them loose shit load of money.
"No lyn, you have to do it for my sake. Pleaseee lyn, I'll treat you with whatever you want after the party is over. You know, if I didn't have another event breathing on my neck I'll never force you to do this. Pretty please.." she said by making the cutest puppy dog eyes to which I can never say no.
"pssst, the things I do for this girl" I thought as I reply to her. "Ok Ok fine, I'll help you. But, this is the first and last time I'm helping you with this planning and all. Okay?".
"Yes, Yes, I promise lyn. Now, go get ready. You have to be with the team that is helping you with planning in an hour. So, you have exactly 15 mins to get ready and leave. Now, shoo" she shooed me with a wave of her hand.
Mumbling incoherent words I get up from the couch of our living room which is very comfortable by the way and made my way to the bedroom. I rummaged my medium size closet for a comfy dress. Ahaa! I found it. A very simple classic white sundress with matching earrings. I paired it with simple flats and a wrist watch.
While getting ready, I got lost in my own thoughts successfully shutting the outer world. I'm an orphan and no, I dont know my parents. They left me at the doorstep of an orphanage. My bestie Ciara, is also from the same orphanage. So, we both grew up from the age of 3. She is an year older than me and is very protective of me. She is like the sister I never have. I have a boyfriend of 3 years and I'm planning to propose him today after the event. We both are so much in love and are planning to spend our life together.
I got dressed and stood in front of my mirror. I have black eyes, long jet black hair which is naturally curly that reaches up to my waist and an average height of 5.5". I don't have a zero size figure but I'm pretty much fit. Where as, Ciara is breathtakingly beautiful for her 5.7" height and she has ocean blue eyes with purple shoulder length hair.
With a final look I exited my closet and made my way to Ciara who is also ready to leave for the event she is planning. I took all the details from her ,my car keys and made a bee line to the parking place. We live in a pretty decent area where we can afford our rent and monthly bills while paying our student loans.
while driving to the event area, I called my boyfriend Jacob king and told him to meet me at our regular place at 8p.m in the evening. I'm gonna surprise him and I really really hope he says YES!
I made my way in to the assigned parking place for Ciara and got out from my car after collecting my belongings. when I reached inside the auditorium, I am pretty sure my mouth is hanging open which can at least accompany a troupe of flies to go in. I was awestruck by the decorations that are being done and it can accompany at least 1500 guests at once. Now, I am more afraid to organise this event. Even a peanut size of mistake can make my life a living hell in prison.
"Oh God! what have I gotten myself into" I thought as I gathered all the courage in me to move on with the remaining decorations.
