Takes place during the Sports Festival in "Come Into My Office. Yes, The Restroom." Part 3 to be specific.
Izuku elbows Shinsou, grinning stupidly. "Hey, you wanna do the scavenger hunt? I haven't done one in like... forever." He looks off to the side, thinking. "Actually, I'm not really sure I've ever did one."
"That..." Shinsou deadpans, sweat-dropping. "That is so depressing. I know I've at least done one back when I had friends."
"I think we've established that both of our childhoods are pretty depressing, man." Izuku waves his hand dismissively before sauntering over to the small crowd gathering by Midnight, his fluffy-haired companion following him with a sigh.
They're a little late, but they don't miss much of the explanation. A group of ten people will get in a horizontal line and race over to where there are multiple cards lying on the ground, facing down so only the school's logo can be seen. The goal is to get whatever's on the card and bring it to Midnight to judge, and whoever gets back to her first within their group, gets a small prize―that is, if they get back before ten minutes. There aren't many rules, mostly ones to keep the students and audience safe.
Izuku and Shinsou stand beside each other in group four, and when the signal for the race starts, they don't even bother running. They go at their own pace over to the cards, and both of them pick up one. They go off to the side so the next group can race without them in the way and read what they need to find.
Izuku looks down at his card and blinks. He scratches his cheek, mumbling, "Uhhh..." He tilts his head, confused. "How the hell am I supposed to find this?"
'Chicken.'
Shinsou peeks over and reads the item before a guffaw slips out of his mouth. "That―" He covers his mouth, sucking in a deep breath to continue. "That is gonna be a hard one."
Izuku glares, "Oh, stop laughing, you ass!" He hits Shinsou's arm, only making the other chuckle more. "Show me yours! It's not fair that you know mine."
"Right, right," Shinsou nods, laughter finally almost dead. He hands his card over to Izuku, and Izuku scowls.
'Hero not on staff.'
"What the hell?! That's the easiest thing you can do here!" Izuku shoves the card back to his friend, while Shinsou starts quietly laughing again.
"I-I'll he―heheh―help you." Shinsou pinches himself so he can stop wheezing. Izuku fills his cheeks with air, glaring. "We..." Shinsou sucks in another breath. "Can work together."
"I hate you. I need a better friend." Izuku rolls his eyes playfully. "Chicken. Chicken. Does it mean food or an actual living chicken?"
Shinsou looks up into the stadium's bleachers, "It's gonna be hard to get up there and back within ten minutes, especially if you're carrying food. Bound to spill it while running."
"You haven't been through rush hour," Izuku says, looking around for the closest door. "Chicken and a Hero―wait..."
Shinsou turns to him, raising an eyebrow, "What?"
"You..." Izuku smiles, amused. "You think Hawks is around?"
"Hawks―" Shinsou covers his mouth, shoulders bouncing. "I-is... is he a chicken now?"
Izuku starts laughing himself, "He has wings―clo-close enough!" He throws his head back, peals of giggles releasing out of his mouth. "Be―hehe―two birds, one stone―"
Shinsou slaps Izuku's shoulders, hunching over. "Oh―hehe―where is Hawks―hahahaha―when we need him?"
Suddenly, there's a tickling sensation on Izuku's freckled cheek and he flinches away, rubbing the area while looking to the side. Then, the same sensation appears on his other cheek, and he searches to see a floating red feather. His eyes widen, "Oh my god, Shinsou."
"What―is that...?"
Another feather comes brushing past Izuku, joining its identical friend. They move side-to-side, almost like they're waving.
"I think it is."
Whenever the two present their items to Midnight, the Heroine stares in surprise for a moment before bursting into laughter. They both get a piece of candy and a sticker, despite neither being first in their group to win, while the feathers wave again, this time in goodbye, and go to return to their owner.

I had fun writing this and I hope it's at least a fraction of the amount of amusement I felt while writing it. I suppose this can be canon since there is time for it, but I'm not sure either Izuku or Shinsou would be up to it after the talk with Todoroki and finding out that they need to fight each other in the first round, but hey, who cares about that. This is for fun and giggles, not seriousness.
Anyway, I hope at least someone enjoyed this lol. Didn't plan to add in anything about Keigo but it happened anyway. Stupid pretty bird.
