once middle school hit, yeona and chenle were a story that could only be read from the original books. very few people knew they even knew each other's names let alone their existence.
they were both in 10th grade now and boy did they had very different social statuses.
yeona was known as the social butterfly of the school? friends with pretty much everyone including the seventh graders. and chenle was just popular in general, his group of friends from elementary grew in size and soon popularity.
but of course yeona was still friends with people like park jisung and kang taehyun who had ended up hanging out with them rather than yeona. so her and chenle still saw each other around.
she wasn't too sure about how he felt about her but whenever they made eye contact in the halls or were going the same way, she couldn't help but get nervous. he was the first big crush that actually sort of stayed in her life after all.
the girl had a few other minor crushes but nothing too serious, just her attempting her shot at a glimpse of romance.
but at this point, she just gave up. at this point, she was more content being called "mom" by multiple people in her school.
she wouldn't mind dating someone but she didn't need to date right this second. she had the sports she learned she liked to play and her best friends to stick with her, really, she couldn't need anymore.
