It had been many weeks since Maze left Volterra.
Her head was still spinning as the emotions that filled her after losing her mate struggled to die down.
She had been running all day and night as she hid in the shadows to prevent exposing what she was.
She had not fed since leaving Volterra which made her weak yet she never stopped running as something inside her told her to get as far away as she could from Aro and the guards.
Maze ran through Athens as she came across a large house.
She walked up to the door before rushing in as the smell of the blood rushing through the veins of the humans inside drove her into a frenzy.
She killed them all before sitting in the lounge as blood covered her hands.
She looked at the eldest last that was in the home.
"I'm sorry" she said before standing up knowing she had to move before smebody came across the bodies.
She wandered into a small town before continuing her hunt knowing that she would be able to feed in a while after leaving Greece.
Maze then wandered into a beautiful forest before killing the hikers she found.
She left each body to rot as the guilt slowly went away as the beast inside her took over.
She then walked into a clearing before sitting down softly.
Maze looked around before seeing a single flower growing from the earth.
She picked it before smelling it.
Maze smiled as her sadness lifted only for a moment.
She despised Aro for what he did but she couldn't help but miss him.
He was her first love and now he was gone and she was alone again.
She admired each little detail on the flower before hearing shuffling.
She looked up as her ears adjusted to the sound.
Suddenly Demetri was in front of her with the flower that she once held in her delicate hand.
"You are a fast runner," he said before placing the flower in her hair.
"I knew you would find me" she said.
"Aro wants you to come back.
He says that Sulphia means nothing to him and that you are still his mate" Demetri said.
"The bond is broken.
Besides im better off away from Volterra" she said.
"I have an order Maze," Demetri said.
"I know and I understand.
It's just that im ready to move away from him.
I knew this would happen but thought it wouldn't" she said.
"Then I'll stay with you," he said.
She smiled "You'll be going against your king," she said.
"While protecting my Queen," he said.
She smiled before wrapping her arms around him.
She knew it would take a while to move on from her past yet she needed to learn to run from it and find someone to start her future with.
It all started when everyone in her village belived she was a witch and now it was ending with her as a vampire.
Each story is written the same until someone comes along to change the endings.
