Roman Carvalho was so many things.

But the one and only thing that came into my head the moment he stepped into the assembly room was the word 'sexy' in bright, neon flashing lights. While I may not have been a total fashionista, I definitely knew sexy when I saw it.

Oh he was still an asshole, sure, but he was a sexy asshole. And I clearly wasn't the only one in the room who thought so - just about the entire female population and even a good portion of the straight-as-a-ruler males had followed his every step since he made his entrance.

Even outside, I could hear how the paparazzi and the fans had amped up the volume to cater to him. I couldn't for the life of me understand how he did it.

"He's really got the whole package, huh?"

A girl appeared by my side, slim and petite and holding a glass of dark red wine. She smiled at me, her dark eyes twinkling as if they knew what was running through my mind. "Nice to meet you. I hear you're the new fling."

I returned the gesture, unsure how to respond. We hadn't even made an official statement yet and the news was still travelling fast.

"Oh no," She laughed slightly, gently placing a hand over her chest. "No insult intended. I'm Gina, and as perfect as your boyfriend is I already have my own Hollywood beau. We girls got to stick together in this dog-eat-dog world, right?"

"Right." I agreed, just glad she wasn't another Natalie. I hadn’t really interacted with someone who wasn’t rude yet, if you took my sister out of the equation. My mind couldn’t help but jump to accusatory thoughts.

Why was she talking to me? Did I finally look like I fit in?

"Don't worry, you get used to it." Gina smiled reassuringly. I was confused for a second, until I noticed she was watching me stare at Roman from all across the room.

He'd been scavenged by people the whole night, so many in fact that I'd been pushed out of the inner circle long ago. As much as I kept reminding myself that this relationship wasn't real, I couldn't help but feel a shot of jealousy every time a beautiful girl touched him.

After all, he was my fake boyfriend. None of the girls around here seemed to grasp the concept of personal space.

Currently, it was a dark skinned super model looking girl that was standing too close to him for my comfort. She had the type of features that screamed sex appeal, and I had never felt more inadequate in my entire life.

"That's why I hate dating A-listers." Gina said, sighing as if it was her ultimate confession. "Too much drama. But the perks are too good to deny."

Oh goodie. Another person who thinks I'm a gold digger.

“Who are you dating?” I asked purely out of politeness. Gina looked offended for a second and I almost apologized for being so clueless.

“Nash,” She said like it was obvious. “You must know him. Right?”

Right at that moment was the perfect layout for the saying; speak of the devil…

While I had made a swift escape from Nash before, I obviously hadn’t escaped him fully.
