A few weeks later

Claire's POV:
There were some big bangs sounding in the distance. At first, we all thought it was just some things dropping but then it started getting closely and they sounded an awful like gun shots.

"Okay. Everyone, treat this just like a lockdown drill. Into the prop closet!" My theatre teacher whisper-yelled.

We all walked quietly to the stage and went behind the curtains, going into one of the bigger prop closets. I looked around and saw pure terror on everyones face.

Soon, the teacher joined us and locked the door behind him. He quickly made she everyone was here, thankfully everyone was, and we sat in silence, making our last wishes.

I heard some footsteps outside the closet and I held my breath, hoping for a miracle.

My wish wasn't granted.

I heard someone banging on the door and soon enough, two armed men entered the room, guns ready to be fired. The men fired three shots and then left the room.

At the second shot, I felt a burning pain in my right hip. I looked down to see blood pouring out of a bullet wound.

Quickly thinking, I grabbed my sweater and bunched it up, applying pressure to the wound. It worked a little bit but not that much. I braced myself, preparing for my death.

Jessica's POV:
We were watching the news because we were bored and had nothing better to do. I wasn't completely paying attention till I heard there was a school shooting about half an hour ago. 23 people had died and another 36 people were injured. I glanced at the tv and saw that it took place at Claire's school.

I called the others over and we watched as they put the names on the tv of people who died.

I sighed in relief once the list was over. Claire wasn't on there.

I grabbed my phone and called Claire to make sure she was alright.

"Hello?" Some random voice said.

"Umm I'm Claire's mother and uhh, is she alright? If this is the wrong number, I'm so sorry." I replied nervously.

"Don't worry, it's the right number. Your daughter is in emergency surgery right now. She was shot in her right side. She's at Manhattan childrens hospital."

"Thank you."

I hung up and spread the news to Elle who was with me at the moment.

We went into my car and rushed to the hospital, Elle being the smart one and bringing her stuffed koala.

We arrived at the hospital and waited, hoping Claire would be alright.

A/N: So sorry I haven't updated in a while. Anyways, hope you enjoyed!
