They were outside this old building wearing bullet proof vests, waiting to hear from swat and the FBI. They were both praying to whatever higher power there was so that their daughter would come out alive from this.

"Shots fired! Shots fired! Man down I repeat MAN DOWN!" They heard through the police radio. It was too much in such little time that the ext thing they knew an officer came out of the building carrying a what looked like a dead body; a small dead body. An explosion erupted and they couldn't see anything. Both of them ducked down as the building went up in flames.

Shawn and Camila ran to the officer who held the body. He placed her in the ambulance and let the paramedics do their job as both Shawn and Camila cried. The paramedic asked if they wanted to come with them, they in such a haze that they didn't even register the paramedics voice but they nodded and went with them. In the ambulance Camila nor did Shawn speak. All they could do was look at their unconscious daughter. As they got closer to the hospital she coded. The moment Camila saw them shocking her daughter she screamed at them to help and bring her back. The ambulance came to halt, they all got out and the paramedic explained her injuries and stats while some other doctor performed chest compressions, all of this while moving into the hospital and into a treatment room.

"I'm sorry but you guys can't go in there. If you'll follow me I can show you where you can wait." The nurse kindly said but Camila wasn't having it.

"WAIT?! My daughter just coded! And you want me to wait?!" She yelled angrily but the nurse didn't flinch and nor did she seemed fazed by Camila's tone of voice.

"Ma'am, your daughter is stable right now but she needs surgery, there was a lot of smoke in her lunges, and some shrapnel from the explosion are logged in her chest. We have to get her to surgery ASAP, and for that you need to follow this nurse to the waiting room. Ma'am please I have done multiple surgeries and I promise you I will do everything in my power to make sure your daughter makes a complete recovery." The doctor said. Camila was honestly lost but nodded anyway and let herself be led into the waiting room where their family was already waiting.

Camila ran to her brother's arms and cried. Shawn wasn't mad or jealous, he knew their relationship was something the couldn't be explained, she tried but still there was no way to explain the bond between twins, being the same sex or not.

They waited, waited, waited, and waited but nothing. After crying what felt like a river Camila fell asleep in her mother's lap, but still she was restless, she kept whimpering, tossing, waking up from time to time but when she saw there was no news she went back to try in take a nap but she still couldn't so eventually she just straighten up and got a coffee.

Sitting next to her husband she took his hand in hers. He smiled at her and even though he wanted to kiss her he didn't want to risk being rejected right now. Camila knew what he wanted and she wanted it too, so she reached her hand up and brought him down softly for a quick kiss, but to them both it felt like a jolt of electricity.

After more waiting and endless cups of coffee the doctor finally came out, surgery cap still in hair, she walked up to them.
