Chapter 1

Purvi ( POV )

"  Remember this case ? The culprit was so cunning.... Pankaj what happened ? " asked Abhijeet sir , he was talking about some interesting story but stopped mid way looking at pankaj.

He is staring towards the Calender with moist eyes as if the Calender is his ex and her memories are disturbing him. We all walked towards him and stood by his side to see what was he looking for.

" Mark my words sir , he must have forgotten his girlfriend's birthday and now she is not talking with him. " said Fredricks sir in whisper, well that can be possible but I know that girl . she is not that unreasonable.

" You seem very experienced in this area. " teased Abhijeet sir and Fredricks sir blushed like a teenage boy . " But forgetting birthday can't be that horrible.. " said Abhijeet sir.

" Forget Tarika's birthday one year and you will know. " replied Daya sir , Tarika is our forensic doctor and yes they are in a relationship but they don't accept it openly.

We all tried to suppress our laughter with chough , Abhijeet sir glared at us for  making fun of him . I hurriedly called Pankaj to save ourselves from that glaring. " Pankaj... Pankaj. " still no reply.

" Why he looks like empty shell without any soul ? " commented Kavin sir , and I can't say Kavin sir is wrong ,  he does look that miserable.

" Hope that's not a breakup. " said Fredricks sir again in a whisper, now that's too much. " Break up for forgetting birthday... that's just too much. " said Daya sir. So much talking but still no reply from pankaj like he is meditating.

" If people can't remember a simple thing as birthday of their loved ones than its okay to just break up. " said shreya. Now , I must add that like Abhijeet sir even Daya sir has a hidden partner... Yes that's shreya.

Its really hard to hold your laughter at such times but if we don't than our jobs will go. Abhijeet sir turned towards Daya sir and showed him ' Babaji ka thulluh.' In case you don't know what it means than let me show you.

That action cracked us all and we laughed so hard that even Pankaj came out of his zone to see what's going on. He looked at us with questioning look on his eyes.

" What happened pankaj ? Why are you looking at the Calender like that ? Did you forget anything ? " asked Kavin sir to him. Pankaj was about to answer but he got showered with a rain of questions.

'  Did you forget your girlfriend's birthday? ' , ' Did she leave you for that ? ' , ' we can talk with her if the situation is that bad , is it ?' , ' How can you forget such important day ? '

" Stop... I didn't forget my gf's birthday or Anniversary or any important date. We are very happy together.....their is no breakup... No separation. We are together... thank you. " pankaj's reply silenced everyone in the room.

" Than why are you looking so sad ? " I asked him totally puzzled. He waited for sometimes thinking weather he should speak or not and than decided to give it a go.

" Sir I was just counting days of our vacation.... Which is none. " he said in a broken tone and that made us emotional. Now that's something which always hits home for us.

" Vacation is a dream which will never come true for us. " said Daya sir and doesn't matter how harsh it is , that's reality . " Even my gf went out with her team to have fun , but look at us files and work ... Or run behind criminals. " said pankaj almost crying.

" The time and amount we spend behind criminals if we invest behind a girl half of that time than we would be happily married with kids. " said Kavin sir sitting on the edge of the table.

Actually , we are quite free today and that's why all this gossiping. I took a chair to sit down and listen them chatter , Daya sir stood with Kavin sir , shreya sat down with me. Abhijeet sir, pankaj and Fredricks sir standing like school teacher about to start a class facing us.

" What's going on ? " came a voice which almost startled us cause we thought it was ACP sir but that's just Dr salunka , he came with Dr Tarika to visit us.

" Dr salunka what a pleasant surprise. " said Daya sir offering them to sit down. They sat together and Dr salunka said " We were very bored in the lab so we decided to make a trip here and gossip a little. " and our Abhijeet sir is overexcited.

" You did a fantastic job tarikaji by coming here. " said Abhijeet sir. " Oh ! It was my idea to be here. " said Dr salunka. Dr salunka and Abhijeet sir are petrol and water never mixing together.

" Yes , yes sir how can you do anything wrong. We were talking about a serious topic and you came in correct time. " said Daya sir trying to cover up for Abhijeet sir and told him about our discussion.

" So true man , vacations are so less in this line of job. It was Fredricks luck that he married before joining CID or he would have stayed bachelor for rest of his life. " said Dr salunka.

" See we don't even get time to get married and you think of taking vacation to enjoy.... dream on. " said Daya sir. " What marriage ...he called me to report somewhere immediately on my suhaagraat to do some work... almost had divorce at the second day of wedding for that. " said Fredricks sir....well that's hilarious.

" How insensitive.... how insensitive. " said Dr salunka "My whole life went with skeletons and dead bodies , sometimes I have nightmares that I am marrying some skeleton. " said Dr salunka.

" You will not get leave even for that. " said Abhijeet sir. " Sir we will die bachelor sir....no hope for us sir. " said Abhijeet sir sitting next to Dr Tarika.

" No hope for who Abhijeet ? " asked Daya sir with amusing smile in his lips. " Us....mean you , shreya... Purvi.. Kavin...you know no hope for us." he said explaining.

" When he comes back I will talk with him about our vacation. " said Abhijeet sir , that would be awesome. Abhijeet sir again went near pankaj to console him and Fredricks sir took his seat....really people teases this guy too much.

" We have to stand strong for our vacation.... no one should have the right to take it from us " said Abhijeet sir. " yes , Sir we must do something about it or we will have to retire just to marry. " said pankaj with broken tone.

When they were talking at that moment ACP sir entered the room with DCP chitrole, he motioned us not to talk and stood behind Abhijeet sir and pankaj.

" Abhijeet can you say it to pradyuman wouldn't you get scared of him...he is your senior after all. " said Dr salunka, Abhijeet sir is so done today.

" I am not afraid of anyone I can ask whatever I want from ACP sir.." he said , trying to be hero for Dr Tarika but heroism will kill him today that he doesn't know.

" What you want to talk about Abhijeet ? " said ACP sir and Abhijeet sir's face became pale he looked back and got biggest schok of his life.

" Jai Hind sir " we all stood up and saluted both of them. Its going to be a fun show. I know its not fair but in this boring job that's the only form of entertainment we have....so its fun.
