Making it back towards your house, you were completely exhausted and seeing Akio just gave you even more motivation run towards the entrance. Looking back it now who knew that what you saw and what happened-after would change so many things in your dreadful life.
You saw your mom at the gates panting, thinking she was drunk and just walking around she caught you off guard when she turned around and suddenly lunged towards you but you dodged slightly. Just so she could only scratch the area under your eye and not damage your eye.
Realizing that she was a demon. You couldn't believe it, thinking you were dreaming again you pinched yourself. Ouch, okay you weren't dreaming.
"Dad! Mom she's a demon!" Yelling for your dad, it didn't do anything I mean yes he came out but. Turns out he was also a demon now. You saw him ready to pounce on Akio, this time you weren't gonna hesitate. Yes, you weren't going to hesitate this time. Even though you were exhausted the adrenaline kept you up.
"AKIO!" Your eyes were glassy with tears.
"Cloud Breathing 10th form: Stormy Weather!" You zoomed past your mom and got into a fighting stance. After a few seconds you sliced both of their heads off at the same time, but it was all in front of Akio. Whom was 8 and didn't know what was going on, yes he asked to be a demon slayer before but he didn't know what it was, he actually thought it meant you would hunt animals. He was so innocent.
Wiping your tears, you ran towards Akio to hug him but he pushed you away.
The poor boy was traumatized to see his parents killed right in front of him, thinking you were some monster. He said the words that hurt you so much.
"You monster! Why did you kill them we were happy! Mom loved us and you betrayed us like that! Oh right, Akio still didn't know. All you've ever done was try to protect him, not even tell him one thing. You've stayed together for years, but his words stung you. It stung worst than a bee sting.
It was like adding salt to a open wound.
You just stood there, with your eyes widened. Your face roughed up with blood. Akio just continued his rant about how much he hated you now. You didn't listen, you were still in disbelief.
You wiped your tears and watched Akio walk away. "Akio..."
The only person you had in the world...was him.
You stood up kept a straight face on and waited the 15 days to get your sword. Over those 15 days, your sadness and sorrow just turned into anger and you just snapped at everything. A damn bird could be flying in the sky and you would just curse at it. "Fucking stupid bird." You angrily muttered
When you finally got your sword, you left to go on your first mission immediately. You didn't say bye to Akio, you still loved him but he hated you. Thinking the best way to protect him after what happened to your parents, was to push him away and make him hate you. Let him live a happy damn life.
