YOU TOOK A SMALL GULP as your grip around the handle of the umbrella tightened. Your body trembled as you could feel your heart thumping loudly out of your chest, having a slightly hard time breathing with your heart beating at such a fast rate.
He agreed.
He agreed on walking home together with you, and you didn't know what to do. Your words came out in a panic and you genuinely didn't expect him to take up on your offer. But he did.
And here he is, walking right beside you as the two of you share one umbrella, standing extremely close next to each other to shield yourselves from the rain. Of course you were really happy when he agreed, but being this close to him was not not okay, it was not good for your heart. You were not prepared to be this close to him, so you were cautious of every single one of your actions, making sure not to fumble up and embarrass yourself.
From making sure you were walking at the same pace as him to making sure your shoulders wouldn't touch against his, you paid attention to all these small details. But things didn't always go the way you wanted. There was only a certain amount of space underneath your small umbrella, so making sure that you don't bump into him while also making sure you both stay undercover wasn't an easy thing.
You bit down in your bottom lip as you once again felt your shoulders brush against his, your face becoming flustered. How many times has this happened already? Your hands start shaking once again as these thoughts start dwelling in your mind, however you failed to notice how shaky the umbrella you were holding was as you were too focused on your thoughts.
Chifuyu looked up at the umbrella, feeling small droplets of rain wetting his shirt before he noticed how shaky you were holding it.
"Do you want me to hold the umbrella?" You immediately snapped back to reality as you heard him speak up. You looked up at him only to see him staring back at you, waiting for your answer.
"No, I'm fine—" You tightened your grip on your umbrella but it was immediately pulled back away from you.
"It's alright, you must be tired so I'll hold it for you." Chifuyu spoke as he placed his hands over yours, attempting to tug it away. Your eyes widened as you felt his hand against yours as you immediately let go, allowing him full access to the umbrella before you looked away.
"Thank you,,," you muttered before placing both hands on the handle of your bag, feeling your heart still slightly fluttering at the small contact just then.
'How awkward.'
It was the same as before, that one time he helped you out at school. You never had trouble when it came to talking to people, but you did when it came to him. Especially when it came to starting a conversation with him.
You looked at the floor, finding it extremely interesting for some weird reason before you noticed a familiar white paint stained on the road. You looked around the surroundings and realised that this was the same path you take when you go home after school.
"Do you always walk this way home?" You gulped as you attempted to start a small conversation.
"Yeah I live about 10 minutes away from school." He responded.
"Really? I walk this way too but I've never seen you walk this way before." You looked at him in surprise.
"Oh, that's because I almost never go straight home after school." He stated, his eyes trailing up to look at the grey clouds, "I usually hang out with Baji-san after school or we get called by Toman for some business."
"Toman?" You questioned.
"Tokyo Manji Gang. The gang me and Baji-san are in."
"Wow, I didn't know you were actually in a gang." You gasped, you knew he was a delinquent but you didn't think he was actually involved in a gang.
