"So, she's moving in now?" Caius snapped.
Aro sighed and answered, "Brother, I don't think we'll be keeping her. Her father had a few friends that the little one met. We'll talk with them first and see if one will take her."
"You're not having Chelsea bind her to the coven?" Marcus asked.
Aro shook his head. "She has always wanted to travel the world. Her father was able to make that dream a reality. If she were here, she wouldn't be able to do that."
"In a way she could, if we gave her a place with the guard." Marcus suggested. "Her gifts are indeed incredible."
Aro sat there, thinking.
Caius drummed his fingers on the arm rest of his throne, waiting for Aro to decide if the child was indeed staying or not.
Demetri entered the throne room and said, "We put their things in one of the spare rooms. What do you want us to do with her father's belongings?"
"Put them in her new closet for now. When she's more like herself, and if no one will take her, help Santiago and Felix get her room ready. If we can't find her a home, she'll remain here."
Caius growled.
"Yes Master." Demetri turned to leave but Aro told him to stay a moment.
Demetri turned to face Aro.
"Are you alright?" Aro asked. "You seemed depressed."
Demetri shook his head. "I promised her I would bring her father back, and I broke my promise. I feel horrible about it."
Caius gave him a look. "Grow up. It was your own fault for making a promise you couldn't keep. Now take care of her belongings."
Demetri swallowed and replied, "Yes Master."
He left.
Caius listened to his wife, who was in the tower talking to the child.
"You can't lay in bed forever, sweetie. I know you miss your father, but I want to see the happy child I've come to know. Can you at least give me a smile?"
Caius listened to the child cry into her pillow.
He sighed and told his brothers, "I'll be right back."
As Caius stood and started making his way to the double doors, Aro asked, "Where are you going?"
Caius turned around to face Aro. "Does it concern you?"
"It does if you're planning on scaring the child."
"Say her name will you?" Caius barked. "Everyone is calling her 'the child', 'Sweetie', 'Little one'! She has a name! Why don't we just use it?"
Aro pursed his lips. "Well how would you feel if you were named after your father?"
Marcus looked at his brother. "Careful, Aro."
Aro looked at Caius and waited for an answer.
Caius growled, "I would change it!"
"Give her time to get used to us." Aro said calmly. "If she does end up living here, then we'll ask her if she wants to change her name. Then we can call her something besides 'sweetie'. Now, where are you going?"
Caius sighed. "I'm going to search through her belongings and see if there's anything that'll keep her from crying. It's getting on my nerves."
With that, Caius marched out of the throne room and made his way to one of the spare rooms. On the bed was a single suitcase that had a picture of a cartoon woman. Caius never watched cartoons but since there was a label that said Disney, he figured it was one of those Disney princesses he heard about.
