Everyone that knows me knows I adore books. And even if you don't know me, you've probably seen me, that awkward kid with a book in his hand.

Books are such an important part of my life. I know a lot of people who absolutely despise reading. Despise the mere thought of actually opening a book.

I don't feel that way.

Every time that I open a book I am filled with joy. Just thinking of being able to escape reality and go to Panem, Erudite, Idris or The Shadowhunter's London fills me with a true passion and a love for reading.

As an avid reader, I love to spread the love of books. Even if they don't read the book I recommended, I still recommended it and they still might have considered reading the book..

And that's what happened with The Duff, by Kody Keplinger. That book changed my life. And immediately, I let my friend read it, and after a few days, over 10 people had asked me to read it.

That was an amazing feeling. The fact that I had gotten someone who doesn't necessarily enjoy reading was amazing.

If you don't know, I have an Instagram for books (@the.book.talk) and you should follow it!

One of the reasons I love that account is that everyone who follows have a great love for reading. These are some of the best people I've met. No, they aren't like my school friends, but in some ways, they're better. They like the things I like, they've read the books I want to rave about and I can talk to them about any book I please.

So, if you're one of those people who just absolutely REFUSE to open a book, reconsider it. Books transport you places and can change lives.
