"Miss Cunningham does 8 pm work for our date tonight?"
"8 pm will work"
"Alright you better be at my place by 8 pm sharp"
"I will be Mr.Mendes"

"Bye Kara" I end the call smiling and begin making preparations for our date. I clean up my apartment, take a quick shower and get dressed in a white button-up, black dress pants and a tie. I place the roses I bought out on the counter and place multiple candles around the apartment, I string up some fairy lights around the hallway and living room. Once I'm satisfied with how everything looks I sit down on the couch and wait for Kara to come. A few minutes later the buzzer goes off, I run over and hit the door open button, I wait anxiously by the door waiting for the knock, a little bit later there is a knock at the door I swing it open and there standing in front of me in a tight black mini dress with tall high heels on with her hair curled was Kara. "You look beautiful"
"Thank you" She blushes and looks down at her feet and smiles, "You look pretty amazing too"
"I got these for you" I grab the roses from the counter and hand them to her smiling.
"They are beautiful thank you Shawn"I pull her into a quick kiss and pull away smiling.
"Come in"All the candles are lit now making the room very bright and giving it a romantic feel.
"Woah" She slowly walks in and carefully looks at every detail, she comes back over and pulls me into a hug, "Thank you Shawn"
"You're welcome. Shall we head out?"
"We shall" I open the door for her and let her leave first, we make it to the elevator and to the parking garage, I open the door to my car for her and shut it behind her. I start driving to the restaurant and hand her my phone so she can play her music. "What a gentleman"
"Thank you I try" She scrolls for a little bit and begins playing Janis Joplin. "You like Janis Joplin too?"
"Yea I love her"
"I like you so much more now"

"Okay so have you seen Brooklyn Nine-Nine?" I ask Kara as I park the car.
"Over a million times"
"You know season 2 episode 23?"
"Yes? What did you do?"I get out of the car and open the door for her, I hold her hand as we walk toward the restaurant.
"I decided I wanted to be like Marcus so" I open the doors to the restaurant revealing it being completely empty. "I rented out this whole restaurant so we can be alone and no one will disturb us."
"Really? That is the most romantic thing someone has ever done for me" She gives me a hug and then pulls me into a kiss. "Thank you Shawn"
"You're welcome Kara. C'mon let me show you our table" I take her hand in mine and lead her outside to the balcony, there's string lights strung up everywhere along with some vines and flowers hung around. The balcony has a view overlooking the water, I lead her to our table and pull the chair out for her, she sits down and I push her in.
"This is so beautiful Shawn"
"Wait until the best part"
"What?" I pick up a little bell and ring it, a waiter comes by with two glasses of red wine and two plates of gnocchi with snap peas, mushrooms, truffle, and parmigiana. "Woah"
"Try it" She delicately takes a bite of the gnocchi and smiles at me.
"Its so good"
"Im glad you like it. Oh I'm supposed to ask you something for Nyles"
"Alright"
"He wants to know if you like him"
"Tell him I like him and his daddy a lot"
"Will do. You should tell me the worst date you've been on" I take bite and smile at her.
"Fine. I was a senior in high school and this guy I had a massive crush on took me out on a date to Chuck e Cheese and then left me to watch his little brother and his friends. Turns out he was with another girl he got pregnant, he's in prison now tho so"
"Jesus he seems like a great guy"
"What was your worst date?"
"I asked this girl out freshman year of college and I waited for her at a Chinese food restaurant and she came an hour late because she was out with another man and she was going to leave because he was waiting outside the restaurant for her"
"Damn"
"Do you want to know the worst part?"
"Yes"
"She was out with my older brother Jax"
"No way"
"Yea they dated for a year and a half"
"Damn that's gotta hurt"
"I mean it didn't hurt that bad"
"Sure it didn't"

"Are you ready for the last course?"
"Bring it on" I ring the little bell and the waiter comes back a few moments later with two plates of beef Wellington.
"Oh my god you remembered I always wanted to try it"
"Yes I did. Try it" She takes a bite and smiles at me, "Oh my god its so good try it"
I try a bite and smirk at Kara, "Oh my god its so good" I take a few more bites and laugh.
"Thank you for doing all of this for me"I reach across the table and take her hand in mine, I squeeze it lightly, and smile at her.
"I would do this all again in a heartbeat to go on a date with you"
"Really?"
"Really" We finish eating our food, I pay for everything and we head down to the lake. We walk in the water with our shoes and her purse in the sand, I walk a little deeper in and she follows me.
"Im sorry"
"For what?"
"For this" Kara tries pushing me but before I fall all the way I grab her hand and pull her down with me. I come up out of the water laughing and so does Kara. "You bitch"
"Hey you pushed me first"
"Whatever"
"Wait there's something on your nose"
"What?" I rub her nose, I pull her into a kiss, she pulls away and smiles.
"Do you want to go back to my place?"
"Sure"

"What T-shirt do you want?"
"Ummm Nirvana" I grab a Nirvana shirt and throw it on her, I also grab some shorts and throw them at her. "Thank you"
"I'll give you some space" I scratch the back of neck and leave the room.
"You can come back in" I walk back in the room and see her in my bed covered up in my blankets. "I see you made yourself comfortable"
"Yes I did. But do you know what would make me more comfortable?"
"What?"
"If you slept in here with me"
"Alright" I put some shorts on and climb into the bed next to her, she places her head on my chest and I wrap my arm around her. "Kara"
"What?" She asks half asleep.
"Do you want to be my girlfriend?"
"Of course" I smile and look down at her.
"You're my girlfriend now" I whisper to myself.
