Halfway Home - A Chaelisa Story

Jennie and Jisoo's play run has been so successful and I couldn't be more proud of them, their passion and hard work is paying off. They have two more weeks to present the play and along come the finals for this semester.

Lisa and I have fallen into place, just like we were before the whole Suzy thing happened. Except we spent even more time together and were touchier than ever- not that I'm complaining but... I still need to work on my trust issues and even though Lisa has been amazing I can't help but to think that history will repeat itself if I'm not careful enough. I knew I had to talk with Lisa but I don't know where to begin, what to ask for...

I'm transported back to the present by the sound of students getting up from their seats and taking their stuff from the desks.

Chae's and I class is over and we're walking to the dance studio together, just like we did before.

"So?" Chaeyoung says raising an eyebrow "I take it you and Lisa made up?" I cough, nearly choking on my own saliva. "Yeah, you could say that" and I'm sure I'm blushing by now as I lay my head down and grip my bag's strap. Only a week has passed and people started noticing my mood improved... even one of my professors, which was a bit embarassing.

She shoves me playfully "Oh, c'mon Park! I want all the dirty details. You just started showing up to practice again and I can see the heart eyes you two throw at each other." She laughs and I just sigh and nod.

"Alright, mmh well... after the uni play's premiere there was this after party Jisoo and Jennie were invited and they dragged us there. We had a chat and I explained why I acted super weird to her. She didn't really ask for an explanation but I wanted to tell her why I acted they way I did even though it was shitty of me to just... push her away." I smiled at the way Lisa's brow furrowed in concern when I poured my heart out to her. "Anyways, by the end of it she just wanted to go back to how we were and I don't know how it happened but we kissed and then-"

Chaeyoung stops dead on her tracks and pulls me to stop "Wait, you what?! Oh my gosh and you're just telling me this? This is so good Rosie! Are you girlfriends yet? Tell me everything" she said excitedly. I laughed "I will! But we're running late and Lisa will punish you if you come late again..."

Chae gasped "Shoot, you're right. Let's go then but hey, this convo isn't over yet!" We picked up our pace, half jogging, half walking. We went into the studio huffing and laughing, all heads turned to us and I grabbed Chaeyoung's bag off her shoulders so that she could start warming up and went to put it in her locker, saying hi to Seulgi on my way over. I finally spotted Lisa as she was stretching her legs. She was sitting on the floor, she sat up and grabbed her hair tie from her wrist to put her hair on a messy bun, leaving her back muscles on display.

I gasped when Seulgi whispered "Watch it Rosé, you're drooling over here" as she passed next to me and laughed a bit. I felt my cheeks turn a deep red and awkwardly went to sit next to Lisa "Hey there" she said as she heard me. She stretched her neck to rest her head on my shoulder "mmh you smell nice. What is it? Shampoo?" I nodded.

"I guess? I don't really use perfume. I can send you a pic of the brand if you'd like?" She smiled and took my hand in hers "That sounds nice. Thanks for coming back to watch the practice. I feel like I haven't said that but... I missed you here" I laughed and nodded "Even though I just came here to sit for an hour?" She smiled, lifting her head "Of course! I needed someone here to impress and do my best!" She puffed her chest and stood up, dragging me up with her. "C'mon, we'll start soon"

I nodded and shoved her to the dance floor, going to my favorite chair to begin my homework and watch the team practice. Finals were close and my project with Chaeyoung wasn't going to get done by itself.

A few days had passed and I couldn't be happier. I was doing great on my classes, I had new and supportive friends who got along with my old friends, I was trying to get rid of my trust issues and well, I had Lisa. Even though we haven't really talked about an official label for our relationship I'm happy to know that she feels a bit of what I feel about her.

I was trying to concentrate on my reading because this paper is due for next week. "Ugh, can we take a break now?" Chaeyoung puffs and closses her laptop "My eyes hurt a bit as well" she said as she rubbed her right eye. I sigh, "Yeah, I guess we can. I can't really concentrate much to be honest. But ugh! We have to finish this paper  in the next few days, otherwise we won't have as much time to put the final touches to the project, okay?" I said. Chaeyoung nods as she lays her head on her crossed arms over the table and closes her eyes.

I felt my phone vibrate and smile.

Lisa: Hey, gorgeous. Are you at your usual spot?

Rosie: Yeah, Chae's already asleep... I think lol

Lisa: Too bad then... I have a surprise

I frown, trying to guess what Lisa means. But soon I feel her embracing my shoulds from behind and kissing my left ear "I missed you, so I brought a little something for you both" I turned around and kissed her "Mmh more for us then" she laughs and kisses me again. "C'mon let's not be mean, I bet Chae is hungry too" I giggle and peck her one more time. "I'm just kidding!" 

Chaeyoung stirrs awake "You better be joking Rosie posie, because THAT smells amazing. Now Lis, give some of that." she takes the bag and takes one panini to dig into. I laugh "I was about to wake you up! I promise", Lisa takes a seat next to me and starts playing with my fingers. "So, you guys almost done?" she asks. "Not nearly as done but we were taking a break, thank you for dinner babe" I smile as I bite my panini and Lisa just laughs.

"I swear, you guys are disgustingly cute. It's kind of annoying." Chae says with her mouth full. Lisa pouts "I thought you'd like me better this way, though?" we all laugh. "I've always liked you, you were just so hard with me at the beginning." Lisa shakes her head "Because I knew you had it in you!" I laugh, "Right, right. Anyways, after this panini all is forgiven." 

Once we were over with dinner and worked on the paper for another hour we were ready to go to sleep. "You want to come over?" Lisa said as we were walking to the dorms hand in hand. "Would-would that be alright? I don't want to intrude, really." she nodded and squeezed my hand. "I-I want you there... tomorrow we will train for an extra hour and I'm afraid we won't have much time together next week since the competition is 12 days from now... I just..." 

I stop walking and face Lisa "Hey, it's okay. I know how importat this is for you and for the team but, what is it? Is there something wrong?" she shakes her head and takes my hand to kiss my knuckles, she laughs bitterly and I frown "It's just... it's silly, c'mon" I stop Lisa from walking, tugging her upper arm "It's not silly, you can talk to me." she nods slowly and I can see in her eyes that she's scared. I don't know what to do so I just kiss her.

I take her bottom lip in my mouth and try to soothe her fears, whatever they are. Try to make her feel just how much I need her to be closer, just closer. So I take her by the back of her neck and bring her impossibly closer, asking for permission with my tongue. Which she grants with a moan. Kissing her is the best thing ever, her velvety lips and her languid tongue against mine. I breathe her in, her scent drives me crazy. Just as she's bitting my bottom lip and I contain a moan of my own I pull away from her, breathing hard.

I whisper agains her lips "Tell me" I feel her smile and she kisses me again, a quick peck as she circles her arms around my waist. "I sleep so much better next to you, I want to sleep next to you tonight. Is that-is it weird?" I hug her, resting my head on her shoulder "It's not weird, I love sleeping with you. C'mon babe, let's go have some great sleep!" Lisa laughs and hugs me again before we continue our way to her dorm.

I couldn't be happier.
