JJ's POV
I spent a couple hours in bed. Sophia left to do something college related so I was alone. Until Emily's voice came from behind me."Hey. How you doing?" She asked. I didn't look at her and groaned. "Well my mom is still talking to the person that stabbed me so not great."
It came out a little more bitchy than I thought so I turned over and apologized. "It's ok. Have you talked to your mom? Maybe stop by her house for lunch?" She offered.
"I really don't want to." I said, sitting up. Emily went to my closet and threw me a shirt. "I know. But it might help stop your brain from tearing itself apart. I can see you stressing."
I finally got up and Emily drove me to my moms house. "Let me know if you need anything." She said before driving off.
"Jennifer? What are you doing here?" My mom said when she opened the door. "Uh hi. I just wanted to come over for lunch." She invited me in and I started making some food.
We ate and I cleaned up. "Can I ask you something?" I said sitting back down. "Anything my dear."
"Why are you still taking with Will. You know what he did to me, right?" I asked. She was quiet for a minute and it terrified me. "Well it was just a mistake. Besides he helped Sophia break up with that partner of hers."
"What do you mean partner?" I asked. "Well you know. That girl. It is not right for Sophia to be with some girl when she should be with a man that will make her happy." She scoffed.
"Alyssa made her really happy though. And you are being nice to the man that stabbed me? I'm your daughter and you called it a mistakes?" I said, almost crying.
"Oh Jennifer don't be dramatic. He's a police officer, do you really think he would stab someone? It was an accident and your fine. Don't complain."
"What the fuck? I was stabbed, my whole team saw it and we are all FBI agents. Does that mean nothing to you?" I cried. She pointed a finger at me and I cried harder.
"Don't you say that word or take that tone with me. William is a good man and I am sure your team is wrong. Every single one of them is going against God and I can't trust them. And honey you are just a reporter, it isn't real work."
I stood up and texted Emily to pick me up. "My team is perfect and I am not a reporter." I whispered. My mom just leaned back and kept going.
"Oh sweetie don't lie. Your team is full of gays and killers. Three of the men have killed people, the other one is gay. And that blonde one is a stalker. Not to mention that lesbian of a best friend to you." She went on.
"Don't talk about them like that." I cried and I tried to calm myself down. "Oh Jennifer, you have to face the facts. You are a reporter for gays, stalkers and murderers. You don't do any actual work. But Will, he is a real police officer."
"He stabbed me." I whispered, looking down. "Don't be dramatic. He did no such thing and you should be happy you had him." Emily texted she was here and I practically sprinted outside.
"Hey blondie how was lunch?" She said with a smile when I walked to her. "Jay what's wrong?" She said when I got closer.
"She said horrible things about everything and I couldn't defend myself. I'm sorry." I cried as she had a hand on my cheek.
"Who did? Your mom?" I nodded and she looked at the door, my mom was right there. Emily walked over to her and I couldn't stop her.
"What is wrong with you? You attacked everything your daughter loves. Do you not care?" She stated.
My mom just laughed and walked down the stairs. "My Jennifer is being dramatic. Will is a good guy and your whole team is just unnatural. You and your ways have corrupted my daughter."
Emily scoffed. "Will is good? Did you not know he stabbed her. He attacked an FBI agent and fled the scene. That is a federal offense."
"Oh Jennifer is barely an FBI agent. She is just a small reporter. She could never do what FBI agents do."
"She is more important to our team than any of us." Emily said, walking away. I followed her and got in the passenger seat.
I hugged my knees and didn't say a word the whole ride.
