(ᴄʜᴀᴘᴛᴇʀ sᴇᴠᴇɴ: ɴᴇᴠᴇʀ ʜᴀᴠᴇ ɪ ᴇᴠᴇʀ)A steamy veil of gas washed over Aven's face like a wall, the smell strong and her vision clouding as she frantically waved her hand to clear the air. She coughed quietly to herself, rubbing her eyes tiredly as she leant back and replaced the top safely back on the cauldron of a brewing Felix Felicis. Whether it was coming along nicely or not, Aven wasn't sure, being the fact that it was only the beginning of a slow six months.
As soon as lessons had released that day, Aven had skipped dinner and gone straight to get on to her nightly task. Draco had decided to not show up, and Aven suspected it had something to do with the Halloween party the house of snakes had thrown. Aven, initially, had gagged at the idea of dressing in over the top costumes and soaking herself with fake blood, but it currently wasn't sounding like the worst plan; not if it meant getting out of here.
Letting out an exaggerating sigh, Aven did a once-over of the room before exiting. She began her quiet walk back to the dungeons, and almost immediately as she entered the Slytherin common room, she was surprised by the lack of loitering students. The chamber was completely empty, the only sound being the crackle of logs as they flamed in the mantle.
Enjoying the silence and deciding it would be the perfect time to divulge in a nice book, she began to head upstairs, wishing to clean up before beginning to rest. She pushed open her dorm room, fully expecting it to be empty, but she was startled to find Pansy perched on the end, face resting on her fist as her eyes lit up.
"Took you long enough, didn't it? Where've you been, anyways?"
"I was with someone."
Pansy snorted at that. "Who, Peeves? Please, I can read you like an open book. Now come along, we have plans."
Aven quirked a brow as she stared at the dark-haired girl curiously. "And what exactly are those plans?"
Pansy rolled her eyes. "Are you completely daft? Honestly, do you live under a rock?"
"Apparently."
"Merlin," Pansy muttered. "I'm taking you as my accomplice to the Halloween rave, obviously."
"What even are you?"
"You can't tell?" Pansy asked, smoothing out her impossibly short skirt.
"No," Aven answered.
Pansy smirked. "Good, because my costume is under all of this. Whoever is lucky enough to take me to bed is gonna be in for a surprise."
Aven pursed her lips. "Oh, wow, thank you for that."
"My pleasure. Now where is your outfit?"
Aven glanced down at her long black pants, accompanied with a white undershirt, the sleeves rolled up, and a green and silver tie loosened around her neck. Her dirty-blonde hair had been pulled into a ponytail atop her head, a few strands framing her face messily.
