--(Five years later)--

It was our five-year anniversary. I had just gotten back home. She would be getting home soon. I made dinner. I set the table and lit the candles. I cleaned up the house and put on some music. I put the flowers I had just bought in a vase, rearranged them, and set them on the table. I turned the lights down and put in the movie we were going to watch. I wrapped the present I got for her and set it by her chair. I put a small box next to my plate. I washed and dried my hair, put on a fancy dress, and put on some jewelry and makeup. Then I heard her car pull into the driveway. I went to the door and opened it for her. She came in and gasped. She looked around and said it was the most beautiful thing she'd ever seen. She hugged and kissed me. We sat down and ate dinner. Then we opened each other's presents. I had gotten her some jewelry and perfume. She had gotten me some new rocks and feathers for my collection. I took the small box (so she didn't see it) and went over to her. I knelt on one knee, opened the box, and asked "Will you marry me?" She said, "Yes."
