~Hayes' POV~
"Why were you at Reece's house?" Nash asked, looking intently into my eyes, waiting for my response. I have never been the person to lie to my brother, but that is what I found myself doing this time.
"Reece needed help cleaning his house, and he asked me to help him," I lied, hoping that he would not notice that I was not telling the truth. Luckily, he didn't, or at least did not show that he did. Just on cue, Reece walked through the door, and smiled when he saw me.
"How are you feeling, Nash?" he asked, sounding like he didn't want to be there. Reece walked over and sat on the bed by his feet.
"Probably better than I look," Nash replied with a slight chuckle, which caused him to wince in pain. Seeing him wince in pain caused me pain as well. We may not be the closest brothers in the world, but we are brothers.
"Well you don't look.....too bad.." Reece replied, sugarcoating it as he looked over his nearly naked body. In all honesty, Nash looked horrible. His left eye was bruised and swollen, a bandage over a cut on his right cheek, and his eyes looked like he hadn't slept in years. And that was just his face. There was a white wrap around his ribs (he most likely broke a few.) And his left leg was in a cast.
"Oh, come on. I know when you are lying. Your right eye twitches a little. And it's twitching now," Nash replied, reaching for Reece's hand. I could tell that it hurt him inside when Reece pulled his hand away from his, severing the contact that he was longing for. "I do love you, Reece..." His voice sounded small and weak. After that, everything went silent for awhile, until someone knocked on the door. We all turned to see Clary slowly walk in, with Taylor right beside her. They were holding hands, and it made me feel good inside because she finally found someone who won't hurt her.
"Oh god. You look horrible, Nash," she said, and instantly realized what she said. "Wow. I'm sorry. I don't know why I said that. That was extremely rude," She untwined her fingers with Taylor's, and walked to the bed to give Nash a hug. You could almost see the color drain from Nash's face because of the strain it put on his body to hug her back.
"It's nice to see you, Clary," he assured her, with a small smile. Taylor bent down to give Nash a light hug as well. "I'm glad you guys could make it. It means a lot."
"Do you really think we would ditch you in your hour of need?" Tay asked, with a mock look of disappointment on his face.
"Never," Nash replied, laughing.
~Reece's POV~
From the time that Clary had walked in Nash's room, I stood up and awkwardly waited in the corner. Hayes glanced over at me quite frequently. "Do you want to go get something to eat?" I whispered just loud enough for Hayes to hear it.
"Yeah. Clary and Tay are here now, so they can keep Nash occupied," he replied. "Hey, we are going to go get something to eat. It's getting kinda crowded in here, and Reece is getting claustrophobic, so we are gonna leave for a bit," Hayes told Nash.
"Oh, okay. I'll see you later, then," Nash replied, happiness draining from his eyes. He went back to talking with Clary and Taylor, and Reece and I slipped out of the door.
"Where do you want to go?" he asked, casually entangling his fingers in mine, as if it was the most normal thing ever. My mind started racing, as well as my heart, and I couldn't process a single thought. Electric. That's what it felt like everywhere that his skin touched mine. And I decided that I didn't want to feel anything but that.
After what felt like years, I felt myself saying, "Uh. Taco Bell?"
"That works," he replied with a grin. Since Taco Bell was less than a mile away, we decided to walk there. We walked there in silence, enjoying each other's company, as we drew circles on each other's hand. Once we got there, he let go of my hand. "People shouldn't know about us yet," he said, with an apologetic look written across his face.
"Yeah, I understand," I replied. We walked inside and waited in a short line to order our food.
"How may I help you two handsome young men?" a really sweet lady asked in a southern accent.
"I would like two beefy five layer burritos and a medium baja blast," I replied instantly. For the past year and a half, I have always ordered the same thing. "What would you like, Hayes?"
After a few seconds of looking at the menu, he decided to get the same thing that I did. The nice lady handed us our cups and recorded the order. We went to get our drinks, talking about this and that. Our food was ready by the time we got back to the counter, so we grabbed it and walked to a booth.
"Sup, hoe. It's been awhile," a deep voice resounded from behind me, causing my body to go rigid.
HEYA EVERYONE!! I'M SO SORRY IT'S BEEN SO LONG!! I'VE BEEN REALLY BUSY, BUT THAT'S NO EXCUSE.
But anyway, did you enjoy it?! Who do to think that voice belongs to? Vote and comment!!! It's much appreciated!!
QOTC: Are you enjoying this?
