Fluttering my eyes open, I was met with a bright shining white light glaring at me. I sat there confused on where I was as my eyes slowly adjusted to the new light. As i was just about able to start making out shapes, I was, quite rudely, shaken and pulled up by a mysterious person who I didn't recognise. A voice accompanied the person stating "Come on kid, your times up and we've got a lot of people waiting". I opened my eyes fully for the first time and I was met by a middle aged man in an all black uniform who was staring at my with an emotionless expression. When he realised I was staring at him in confusion, he gave me a warm smile, understanding how confused I must have been. Changing his tone of voice, he softly gave me some instructions. "If you follow everyone else through those doors," he said pointing at two very large doors which people were walking through looking just as confused as I did, "the people there will explain everything to you ok?" he finished. I nodded slowly, whilst standing up from the weird chair I was in, and slowly made my way to the forming crowd of people who were also getting out of similar seats. As the que slowly moved towards the doors, I glanced behind me and saw the same man from earlier signalling for people in a different que to sit down in the seats we were once in. He began explaining something to them, and their faces suddenly filled with excitement. I was just out of ear range, so unfortunately I couldn't hear what was being said to them, but I sure wish I could so I wouldn't be so confused anymore.

Before I knew it, I was walking, well waddling, through the large doors with the hundreds of other people I didn't know. As I walked in, I noticed I was in a rather larger room, which realistically was more of an arena than a room, with thousands of seats surrounding a small stage in the middle. Majority of the seats had already been taken, which made me assume the group I was in must have been the last one to arrive there. There were all different kinds of people in the arena, some of which I had never actually seen before. There were Chinese people, British people, Italian people, South African people, Russian people, the list goes on. And these people were also in all different shapes and sizes and ages as well. Without realising it, I was quickly sat in a chair surrounded by other people I still didn't know. I glanced around and was met with eyes of people who looked just as confused and scared as I did. Soon enough, I heard a females voice booming over the silence in the room. "OK, hello everyone. I can see that you are all very confused as to where you are, what has happened, why you are here, and so on. Now I'm here to explain what is going on, and hopefully answer some of those questions. My name is Amelia Erickson, and I am one of the people who run V.W.S.C. Now what is V.W.S.C? V.W.S.C stands for Virtual World Simulation Centre. Our mission here is to give the population another life on earth and let them experience what "normal life" was once like. You guys were our 100th group to experience our simulation. Now to explain why you guys must be confused, one of the side effects on the simulation is memory loss. This means that you will remember pretty much everything from when you were in the simulation, but you won't remember anything from before it." the lady on the stage in the middle of the arena stated, confusing me even more. So everything I had just experienced, technically didn't happen? So I didn't die from the nuclear bomb, the simulation had just, ended? My train of thoughts was suddenly interrupted by the lady again. "You will gain your memories back within no time, but in till then, you must all remain in our hosting facilities so we don't have confused civilians just wandering around the city." Wait, city?! There's a city here? So we all had a life here before the simulation? Oh that feels weird to say. "I hope that you all enjoyed our simulation, and I wish you all a speedy recovery and you can all enter our normal life soon. Now if you all follow the guards closest to you, they will escort you to your dorms for now. Thank you for your time, and goodbye." She ended with a genuine smile before retreating backstage. I turned around as I heard another woman's voice speak up and tell us to follow her to our dorms. As the people around me and myself stood up and started to follow the guard through the doors and through corridors, I suddenly remembered something, well more like someone. Xinlong.
