I'm currently doing as much research as I can on salamanders. While I'm doing this, I'm thinking about what to include in the sub. Like I'm debating on the toxic skin feature of some salamanders. I'm thinking, that the slime should be toxic instead of my skin. As for the hairlessness, I was thinking of it only applying the skin below my neck. So that I won't lose any scalp hair, or eyebrows or eyelashes.
Also, salamander skin acts as a respiratory membrane. Meaning they breathe underwater through their skin. I was thinking of including that, instead of external gills. I also read salamanders periodically shed their skin. Idk if I should include that or not, what do you guys think? Salamanders also apparently have night vision, so I'll have to include that as well.
I also have to make sure to include the lateral line organ in the sub. Which is used to detect changes in water pressure. I also want to include the biofluorescence that are found in various salamander species. But it'll only be present when I'm fully transformed. As well as the long tongue found in terrestrial salamanders. But it'll only be present when fully transformed. I can't forget to include webbed fingers and toes. Which again, will only be present in my humanoid salamander form.
But, I don't what to about the tail. I don't know if I want it only present in my salamander form. Or apart of both my human and salamander form. What do y'all think I should do. Anyways, I think that covers everything except the regeneration. Which I already know I'm for sure including.
