Ahahahahaha WHOOPS it's been a hot minute since I've updated this story! Please don't hate me too much!!! Hopefully this chapter will be good and make up for my absence.

About four hours later, Draco and I are still in the Room of Requirements, trying to fix the vanishing cabinet, both of us exhausted and starving.
I glance around for a clock, hoping it's around dinner or that we haven't missed it. Sure enough, a clock in a stack of furniture says that it's six o'clock.
"Do you want to head to the Great Hall for dinner?" I ask Draco, already knowing the answer but still wanting to ask to make sure he knew he could.
Draco doesn't even look up from the book his nose is buried in as he searches for a way to fix the cabinet. "No, you go. I need to work on this," he dismisses.
Hesitating, I'm not sure if I should insist that he comes or leave him be. I decide to leave him and say, "Okay, but if you change your mind, you know where to find me."
He doesn't respond.
I let out a sigh and head towards the entrance of the Room of Requirements, pulling open the large door. It's not exactly as if I'm leaving him to starve, I'll just drag him to the kitchen later and hopefully get him to eat something.
As I enter the Great Hall, Potter and his friends are leaving, eyeing me.
Annoyed but the unnecessary stares, I snap, "What?"
Harry looks at me, calculating my appearance to my mood. I must look horrible by the slight tinge of sympathy that enters his expression. "Where's Malfoy? I noticed he's been skipping meals and classes."
I sigh, crossing my arms. "Oh my god, Potter! Why are you so damn obsessed with him?! I swear you follow him around like a needy puppy, always needing to know what he's doing. Just leave him the fuck alone!"
Harry raises his hands in surrender and he and his friends quickly walk past.
Taking a deep breath, I walk quickly over to my friends and sit down beside Pansy.
Looking over at me, Pansy smiles and hands me a roll. "Hey, where've you been?" She asks.
I smile back before taking a bite out of the roll, chewing and swallowing. "I was in the library reading." I lie.
"Oh," she says. "Did you find anything interesting?"
Shaking my head, I reply, "Not really." At least that part was true. Reading book after book about the vanishing cabinet wasn't what I'd call an interesting read.
"That's too bad, but some seventh-year Slytherins wanna throw a party tonight in the common room. Are we gonna chill with them?"
Pansy looks at me, excited and distracted. I don't even think she's really paying attention to anything I'm saying.
Personally I really don't like parties, I would rather be helping Draco with his task, or reading a book, or anything else for that matter. I hate crowds. But she always finds a way to drag me to these things, and I always go because it makes her happy.
"Yeah, sure I guess." I tell her. I see her face light up.
"Great! Come on, we've got to finish our homework beforehand!" Pansy exclaims, dragging me to my feet. "Snape just had to torture us with a ten page essay due in two fucking days. That asshole!"
I laugh, walking beside her. "You've got that right!"
We walk back to the Dungeons together, Pansy telling me all about how Weasley messed up a simple potion in class and blew up his cauldron, losing Gryffandor fifty house points. Our laughter echoes through the corridor, and just for a small moment, I forget about all the other shit going on, I forget about Draco's dark mark, I forget about the fact that, without a doubt, I'll have mine in a few months time.
Things are good, if only for a moment. How little I know now  will eventually catch up to me, though, and much sooner than I think.
