Is it okay to spend the money? Her father never mention about it? Maybe if he comes back and look for the money maybe he just forget to bring it along with him.
"Marco" she call the second oldest sibling
" I think we will wait for a year before we decided what to do with the money. Father might look for it when he comes back." She said asking for approval from his sibling.
"What about our food sister? Where are we going to find money for our daily needs.? "
"Dont worry , i will sell the harvest so we can have money. But this money is not ours so we have to keep it in safe place that no rats can chew it okay? "
"Okay sister. , I want to go to school sister i thought we could use the money so i can become a doctor."
"Then we will have to wait for a year if father did not come back by then, then i will enrol you to a school where you can stay., Isnt that sounds great?"
"Yes sister! We will wait fo a year. "
Lira have to work hard for a year to provide food for her siblings but she enjoys working hard , she felt very strong and dependable. Even if her siblings will go to stay in school she will probably choose to stay in that farm to wait for her fathers return.
After a year , they finally spend the money. Marco 12 years old, Joshua 10 years old, Jared 8yearsold, Kayel 8 years old have to go to the stay in school so they wont have to travel far everyday just to go to school. They already fully paid the entire schooling so they might come back after they graduate from college. Their is a small money left but she is not worried at all because they will come back , they will help the family in the future.
That lives her with Anna 6years old, and Mara 4years old. it seems that the boys are ready to build there future while the girls have to wait for a while.
It is very lonely without the boys running around the house and making it shake. Even with money they did not change anything around the house because their father wont recognize it when he returns. She wish that her father will come home so she can at least take a break from working the farm. She found the statue at the altar, it really gathers a lot of dust, she cleans the statue rub it with towel and put a cologne now it is good as new.
"I hate you! I wish you were gone! "
Shouting and running towards her is Mara, they fight again because of a silly game. Accidentally she almost let go of the statue shes holding because mara jump to her lap.
"I hate lira , i hope she disappear.!"
"What did she do to you this time? "
Ask her while she slowly putting back the statue to the altar.
"She throw a centipede at my face."
"Such silly you dont wish someone to disappear just because of that. Surely she will come to you eventually to say sorry. Never wish to something that you will regret for the rest of your life. Understand it Mara."
"Im sorry, sister. I will go look for her, i was wrong to say those things."
She watch her sister runs towards outside. She is so lucky to have siblings that is so responsible. The reason they survive without grown up is because they listen to her.
"Dinner! " She shouted but no one came, its been many hours since the last time she saw Mara and Anna, where could the have gone to.
"Anna! Mara! Where are you? "
It is almost dark. She felt something is wrong. Where did they go.
"Anna ! Mara! Dinner is ready!"
Shit! They must have played too far from the forrest they might have been lost. This cant be , without the boys no one will watch over the girls. She was too careless.
She was trembling while reaching out the flash light from the cabinet and hurriedly go outside to look for them.
"Anna! Mara! Go home! Where are you? "
"Sister! Help! "
Her heartbeat jump so fast she almost can't catch her breathe.
"What happen? " She ask when she saw Mara crying in the side of the tree.
"The tree took Anna! Sister help! The tree took Anna!" Mara is so hysterical that her voice is so loud across the forrest.
"What do you mean the tree.? I dont understand. Tell me what happen."
"We were playing hide and seek and i saw Anna she disappear infront of this tree. " She was trembling and crying saying those words. "My wish came true!"
She was dumbfounded when she hear those words. its the wish that cone true. No way in the world it will just come true, its just an expression to wish something not literally that you really want to get that wish.
What is she going to do now?
"Lets go home maybe anna already went home. " She said trying to calm down Mara.
"No! I will stay here she definitely taken away by this tree."
"Listen Mara, its dark and we need to go back home we can look for Anna tomorrow morning okay?"
