We're only hunted
by the things,
We refuse to accept.

On the private flight back to Italy, I am currently signing a few essential agreements. Since I had just signed a contract with another provider, it was simple as could be expected. I had been away for some time attending to other matters involving the other companies we hold in the opposing territories. I also ran across an old friend who owes me for saving his life a while back.

"Miss Lenoir?" My gaze changes for a brief second. "Your father has come to see me to contact you for an urgent message from him." A member of my staff entered the room.

"I'll be accepting it right now, grazi." He nodded before leaving the room once more. I took a brief deep breath of air and picked up the phone.

"Cassandra, mia amata figlia." His stern demeanor and accent were noticeable over the phone.

Buona sera, papà. I shortly answered him.

"I assume you're returning," He asked in a far more serious manner than before.

"Of certainty," I assured him. "In order to address some issues here in America, I had to delay my leave. But accepting the offer didn't take them very long. As such a way, they were not nearly as unpleasant as I had anticipated." I went on to say.

"Successfully take, Cassandra." I gave half smile. "I didn't think you'd disappoint me. I'll be waiting for your arrival." I exhaled after and hung up the phone.

Regardless of how often he praises me, those words will never have any significance or meaning to me. More so specifically coming from him. I've already set aside my emotions and kept my attention on something else that is more significant than love. My eyes shifted toward the small window open before going back to the documents on my desk.

The plane just made a landing awhile ago. I'm also headed my way back to the mansion. As we returned home, the scent of cool air as well as familiar roadways helped me to rest and clear my head.

The gates started opening. We promptly entered the driveway, and carefully parked the vehicle. The main entry remained held opened as I entered. Eventually making my way to my father's office. I pushed the doors open, revealing my uncle and grandfather all sitting down together in front of my father.

"Eccola qui, la mia nipotina." My uncle welcomed me with a smile across his face. He stood up and gave me a warm embraced. I smiled happily and patted his back.
