Gretta plopped down on one of the twin beds in the hotel with a sigh, happy to sink into the soft comforter. It was $141 a night, way more than Gretta or her mother could afford and she thanked every star in the universe that the agency was paying for such luxury.
"You approve I take it?" Gretta nods, obviously not noticing her mother's amused expression.
Grace sits down on the other bed as it creaks. She lets out a sigh of exhaustion and Gretta opens her eyes to look over at her.
"You okay?" "Mm. Just tired." Grace rubs her eyes with her fingers and starts to get up to get ready for bed.
She then suddenly turns back to Gretta, "You like it here?" Gretta nods. "That's good. I was worried you wouldn't. But I'm glad you've found something to make you happy here, you always do." Grace says, fondly looking at her. "What can I say? I'm adaptable."
And it was true. But it was easier for Gretta to find a place in Grimsborough and possibly here too, but Pacific Bay was a struggle. Sure, she had the tech job but that was a few hours of solace and hiding from the world.
But Gretta decided not to think about it. Today was a new day, a new country, a new job, a new start.
And at least Gretta wouldn't be bored out of her mind now.
Elliot was a little too proud of himself for her taste but she was getting use to it despite only knowing him for a day.
She liked the way they clicked she supposed. They definitely had more in common than not. Both stubborn, too proud to admit when they're wrong, etc.
She just doesn't know if it's her mom's influence that's making her suspicious but she senses he's not entirely what's on the surface.
Like there's some layers to him that Gretta just hasn't uncovered yet.
Oh well, something for future Gretta to worry about. Her current self needed some rest for a new day.

I hope you all don't mind me reiterating that Gretta absolutely, does not like Pacific Bay.
She's lived there for at least four or three years now, she's got some opinions😅
Wasn't sure where to stick the family so this expensive hotel will do I guess.
Hope everyone's cool with the double/triple updates. I'm stuck in my mom's office because our power went out from a bad storm and it's hot as hell outside <3
Anyway, next chapter will be the additional investigation and then we move on to France!
