So this idea is a mermaid/merman au. So I guess have some lore
The people of the ocean has kept peace with the people of the land. The oceaners (people who live in the ocean, give the landeers (people who live on the land) fresh water, fish, rain. While the landeers give the oceaners, crops, protection, healthy land to keep the animals of sea and land safe.
For punishment, if a landeer causes trouble they are sent to the ocean to be drowned and become a drowned landeer. If an oceaner does that they are forced to become a landeer and never interact with the people/things they have done, and their tails get removed and separated to become clothes. :)
Spain is an oceaner whom has fallen in love with a landeer (pretty much mermaid au love stories). But the twist is that the woman whom he has fallen for, is pregnant and is forced to keep the kid from the oceaners a secret since the woman used to be an oceaner. Then Spain gets into an arranged marriage and forgets the woman and carries on with his life. The woman on the other hand, sees that the land is being affected by the oceaners by overpopulation in the sea. So some oceaners (including Spain) must go and repopulate the land. Spain finds the woman fall in,live and pisses of his other lover.
