Notes before: The speed in most of these chapter will go from fast to slow paced. Mainly when two are talking it's more fast. Becoming slow when we get to an important part. Which is why in the beginning of this it is quite fast. The first 2 or 3 chapter are them in 2nd year.

Guilt will always hunt down their prey. And this time its prey is Iwazumi Hajime. He holds the guilt of breaking that one promise he had made to Oikawa Tooru. The one Oikawa always had reminded him to keep, the one he had sworn to keep till death do them apart.

December 15th

Iwazumi's POV:

"Hey, we will beat them next time. Okay?" I stare at the setter, Oikawa. He looks at me, his brown eyes piecing into my skin, sweat dripping down from his hair, a smile ever so sarcastically.

His tone full of pride and hope, "Your right Iwa- Chan." than becoming sarcastic, "because I'll be captain." His smile softens and his eyes fill with tears. "But... what if we don't win next year.".

Shock rises to my face; I've never seen Oikawa think something like that. He's always believed that he has a chance, even he is facing up Ushijima like always. My face calms, "Oikawa, I'm not going to promise but I know that you will work as much as you need too just to make it possible."

"You're right Iwa- Chan. But I have something to ask...".

"Yeah? Everything okay" I look away from him as I look for our bus.

"Is it okay if I go to your place for Christmas, my mom is working." I can feel his gaze go to me.

"Of course, it's not like you haven't spent Christmas with us." I look back at him to see a smile across his face, his pink cheeks from the cold. "Now, stop standing there smiling... we're going to go to the mall."

"What? But we need to get back home?" As confused as Oikawa is, he is just as excited. You can just tell by the way his eyes light up like no other, almost brighter than the star in the sky on the darkest of nights.

I grab his hand dragging him to the closest malls nearby, if anything I knew this would make him a little more ecstatic about the situation with Christmas.

At the mall

Walking into the mall I look at Oikawa knowing he won't be paying attention to me till he sees something we must get for someone. His cheeks still pink from the cold, my scarf he had stolen wrapped around his neck, his eyes rested on the Christmas tree in the center of the mall, his pink lips resting apart slightly, a few snowflakes resting in his hair, and his skin slightly glistening due to the few tears shed a while back.

"Iwa- Chan the tree looks so beautiful. Look at the star on top." He points up at the star on top of the tree, it's a brown wooden tree topper. With brown ribbon hanging from it with a little light being produced from it. Yet though I look at it my gaze goes back to Oikawa.

"It sure is beautiful, Oikawa." I wasn't lying to him, it was beautiful. I might not be talking about the tree topper but I was still looking at something that I do find perfect in every way.

His hand grabs mine pulling me farther into the mall, pointing at the decorations at every second in time. From the carts selling roasted pecans covered in cinnamon to every store's different tree with ordainments like no other.

As we walk together hand in hand, at the corner I catch a glimpse of a small shop selling tree toppers. I look back at Oikawa, "Hey I'll meet you there I'm just going to go get the pecans. Is that okay?" He turns his head around with the biggest smile across his face.

"Of course, Iwa, you don't need my permission. I'll see you there." His hand slips out of mine as he waves to me and I wave back.

I turn on my heel heading to the small shop, somewhat hidden. As I open the door a bell rings and a woman walks out from the back, tree topper in hand, and glasses laid on her nose. The store smells like fresh ginger bread, with snowflakes hanging from the ceiling, red ribbon around the many small trees around the store; all different toppers. All different ordainments. Shelfs filled with self-made toppers, there's was something about this that made everything shine. A sign at the register saying Santa's workshop.
