"Hey Eric, what were you trying to show me yesterday night? I promise I was waiting for you, but then this girl broke her harness and chased after me till the middle of the forest haha. Thank god there were some wild pineapples there and I managed to calm her down with them."

Eric looked at the mage while grumbling to himself. He was drenched, and when the cold air hit him in sharp stabs, he felt like he would break if it continued on. But it did, and he didn't break. Thank fuck.

The prince ambled first, carefully. The knight didn't like the way twigs and branches would snag on his highness' face, but due to his mollifying strength, Eric failed to do anything about it. Like a flock of herring gulls had perched on his shoulders, the knight felt his body being weighed down. He was exhausted.

But no, he couldn't be. He was a knight.

"It's not important Pase. It's actually quite dumb. And I also apologise for the ruckus Avianthan caused you, she's not always this violent. Ha. Ha." Eric fake smiled, scratching the back of his neck as he saw the wizard shaking his head and hugging Avianthan by her neck, who had been ploughing beside them tiredly.

"It's fine, I think she likes me a lot now." giggled Pase when the mare suddenly darted her tongue out and licked all over his greesy ogre face. Eric couldn't help but feel a little let down, since he had thought Avianthan liked him better than anyone else.

But it's certainly not the case, since she was currently acting as if Eric wasn't even there.

"But now that I think about it, I'm kinda suspicious," Prince Charming stopped walking and turned behind to look at the knight, wizard and the horse. "Weird how Avianthan broke off her hitch just when ginger left to bring out his surprise, which should I recall, doesn't seem like it actually exists?"

Eric froze to the ground as the mage's eyes snapped towards him, "What are you implying m-my prince?" stuttered the knight, "You know I would never let go of Avianthan just so she could hurt Pase. That doesn't sound like me, not at all. Ha. Ha."

Okay, now he knew, he fucked it up himself.

He could feel the way the wizard's eyes bored holes at his back, drilling through his skeleton, piercing his ribs and aiming right at his heart. The knight's body was tense as he smiled uncomfortably, feeling thousands of thorns prickling at his skin, making it unstable enough not to parry the blows anymore.

Pase ended up sighing and smiling, though it didn't look real in any way, "What a funny coincidence. So, let's go back to the cave now, shall we? I'm starving."

The prince joined the train of sarcasm while sending a small sneer towards the knight, "Yeah, me too." and with that, they continued trudging under clouds of fresh leaves and fallen branches. Eric on the other hand was fighting not to seem fazed, although he was, and struggling to stop himself from feeling dejected since the prince didn't ally with him.

His mind was rolling in a pit of spurges, wasn't it? He wished things could go back to the early days, where he would be fighting off enemies with his two friends by his side. At least then, he had people who were affiliated to battle alongside him.

And he could daydream about his prince, without being reminded every second that the prince- excuse the profanity, didn't give two shits about him.

"But after eating breakfast, can you guys take me on a ride with Avianthan?"

Both the Prince and the Knight looked at the mage, who stared down while blushing. "I've uhm, actually never mounted a horse before. And I want to try. You're not obliged to do anything, but you know..."

The prince grinned, walking up to Pase so that he could keep his hand on the green boy's shoulder, "Why of course, Pase. Enrique is also happy to teach you, right ginger?" he dragged on his words, glancing at the Knight whose face tinted red before looking away again.

And Eric just knew, he would never be able to resist.
