——⛲️"it would appear so." taehyung answered your question. "and it's because of that son of a bitch." you laid down next to taehyung, also on your back but with your hands on your stomach.
you looked around the room you were in. there were the blankets you were laying on that are a soft pink, the band posters still plastered over the walls, and that vanity that sat across from the bed. you couldn't help but ask the boy, "before i ask for details.. is this her room?"
taehyung sighed and closed his eyes. "yup. we didn't have anywhere else to put you. we were cleaning the basement and the attic gets so hot, you could die. since it wouldn't be us killing you, it would've been a disappointment."
"tell me about her."
he opened his eyes and stared at the ceiling. "well, one thing is she never enjoyed what i did. when our parents died, she wanted to live with our aunt, but since i was young and naïve, i took up mrs. min's offer for guaranteed protection as long as i worked for them later. i had just lost my parents, i didn't want to risk ever losing my sister.
they told us if she got hurt, they'd have someone heal her and fix her up quickly. if we needed food, they'd have a chef cook up meals for us until we were full and couldn't eat anymore. as a 10 year old, i thought mrs. min was a blessing in disguise.
they brought me and my sister, taeyeon, to this mansion and said it would be our new house. there was a maid there who was in charge of taking care of us, a butler, and a chef.
seven months later, jimin and jungkook joined us. but then two years later, we were assigned our jobs. jimin got the option that was probably best for a 12 year old to hear, the drug dealer. no violent crimes, just selling drugs and reaching a quota every month or two. he didn't have to do training for that, he was actually allowed to sell only when he got to high school.
it's sick that they targeted high schoolers, but what option did jimin have? his family was abusive and neglected him, anything would be better than being with his family.
me and jungkook got the hitmen. it was traumatizing figuring out me and taeyeon lived those seven months in luxury with the price of me having to murder people. but taeyeon, she was smart. they wanted her to be a pharmacist, so she could help supply them. that's when we realized this wasn't the kindness of two adults, it was us getting roped into a gang.
taeyeon tried talking me into running away, but knowing the job mrs. min assigned me, i was too scared to even leave the premises of the house. i didn't want to be in an open area where i could get sniped, and i became very paranoid.
the time came, and i began to train for my new occupation. yoongi became the leader since mrs. min wanted her son to start early. i mean, mafia leader at 19? i think she wanted him to get his roots in. it'd be an easy way to trap him into this since he's so young, if that makes since."
you laid on your right side so you'd be able to see taehyung's drunken face. he turned his head to you and scanned your face before you caught him turning an even darker pink. "shit ... i'm way too fucking drunk to even finish this story. i promise you yoongi'll finish this up one day. add a pretty little ribbon to it and what not." before you even had time to think, taehyung was up and unlocking the door. he fidgeted with the lock on the knob before turning it all the way to open it.
"w-what?" you stuttered. you did not want to rush taehyung into telling you everything, but instead of tying up loose knots, he cut the string into several pieces.
