A Single Red Rose

warning: bugs, decay, rot and mold

     America walked in the place he once called home. The area was slowly dieing, why was that you may ask? Well because of over populated bugs and maggots. America never understood how it got this bad, he took good care of his garden, in fact when he was a colony he was to one who made Britain's garden to look beautiful. The house how ever wasn't swarming with rodents, it was falling apart. The house was so old that the roof had started caving in and the floor tiles were starting to break and for some reason some were missing, electricity had stoped working there, heck it never worked there. How could he let himself live in conditions like this, how could he let his children live like this. He blamed him self, and called himself a horrible father.
    
It was about time he got his children out of there, they couldn't be more happy. once he got them out of there he look at his now dead garden, he walked towards the direction and gently swung the gates open, knowing that if he put to much force the gates would fall of, not that he cared anymore. He walked to the center. he looked to his side and was disgusted with the amount of maggots chewing on the roots of his flowers and vegetables, he continued to walk and finally reached this destination, he looked at his rose bush, almost all were dead but one, a single blood red rose, America was surprised by how this particular flower was untouched he took the flower back to his car as a reminder of the place, he hated the fact that he was defeated. The rodents had won and there was nothing he could do.
