Three years had passed since Rosé left Jungkook without a trace. Her name still etched into the fabric of his heart, he wondered if she ever thought of him. The nights were the hardest, plagued by memories of their partnership, the camaraderie they once shared, and the unspoken feelings that remained unexplored. Meanwhile, Rosé had found solace in the embrace of her family and friends, especially Chanyeol. His unwavering support had been her lighthouse in the storm, guiding her through the darkest moments, including the heart-wrenching loss of her baby.

The pain of the miscarriage had carved a deep valley in her heart, a constant reminder of what she had lost. Yet, she had emerged stronger, a testament to her resilience. Her friendship with Chanyeol had grown into a bond that offered her the love and comfort she needed to heal. But as much as she had moved on, the thought of Jungkook was like a persistent melody that played in the background of her life, a poignant reminder of what could have been.

Chanyeol was rosé's crush before she met jungkook, she still liked chanyeol but just as a good friend.

Now, as she sat in the cozy living room of Chanyeol's house, watching him play with his son, she couldn't help but feel a twinge of jealousy. Mina, his beautiful wife, walked in with a tray of tea, her eyes filled with warmth as she placed it on the coffee table. Rosé forced a smile, pushing aside the bitterness that threatened to surface. She was happy for them, truly. Chanyeol had always been there for her, and she had come to accept that their relationship would never be more than friendship.

Mina's gentle touch on her shoulder brought her back to reality. "Rosé," she said softly, "I know you're still hurting. But it's time to let go of the past. You're an amazing person, and you deserve to be happy."

Rosé took a deep breath, nodding as she took a sip of the tea. She knew Mina was right. But the thought of moving on was easier said than done.

Rosé looked out the clean window of her big apartment, watching the world go by. The setting sun painted the sky with strokes of orange and pink, but she couldn't find the beauty in it. Three years had passed since she left her detective badge and Jungkook, unable to face the daily grind of the job that had once been her life's passion. The phone on the kitchen counter buzzed, jolting her out of her reverie. She picked it up, seeing the familiar number of her old boss, Yoongi, flash across the screen. Her heart skipped a beat as she swiped to answer.

"Rosé," Yoongi's gruff voice filled the room, "we've got a new case. High priority. You're the only one I can trust with this." She hadn't heard from him since she'd turned in her badge, and the suddenness of his call was as unexpected as it was unsettling. She took a deep breath, trying to ignore the stirring in her stomach. "What's it about?" she asked, her voice calm despite the turmoil inside.

Yoongi didn't mince words. "Wendy You know her, right? The artist?" Rosé felt a knot tighten in her chest. Wendy was a rising star in the art world, a friend of a friend. The thought of her being in trouble was unthinkable. "She's been found dead in her studio. We need you back, Rosé. This one's personal."

With a heavy sigh, she agreed. The weight of the decision settled on her shoulders like an old, familiar coat. As she grabbed her keys and headed out the door, she couldn't shake the feeling that she was stepping back into a world she'd left behind for a reason. But the call of duty was too strong to ignore.
