Chapter 13 - For Survival

It's been 2 weeks since you've been kidnapped and brought here. 2 weeks since your debut. And 2 weeks since you've last seen Gin.

You weren't that worried though, since Henry said that he was recovering in the hospital. And because Gin was in the hospital, you couldn't visit him. Apparently it's a taboo for toys like you to go out.

I mean, I was kidnapped. Of course they wouldn't let me out. You thought as you played with the stuff toy Henry gave you the other day. He said it was a gift from one of the betters who won a lot from placing his bet to you.

You didn't want it but Henry threatened you into accepting it, saying that it would earn you more betters. I don't know how but I just took it since I learned that the more you earned betters, the more Henry would 'take care' of you.

You've won a couple of fights since then too. Making yourself pretty known. You even hear some people calling you 'The newbie who killed the mad dog'. It was funny how they call Gin a mad dog but it fits perfectly for him.

*knock* *knock*

You heard someone knock from the metal door of your room.

Huh? It's still friday today, A shouldn't be coming here. You thought as you got up from the bed and walked towards the door. You knew A was Henry's loyal servant but you just can't help but feel relief in his presence. Maybe it was because you know that A will never do something to you unless ordered by Henry.

Unlike the other servants who'd give you looks of hate and disgust that you didn't even know why they give you.

"Hey A, what are you doing he-" You stopped talking as soon as you saw two girls infront of you.

"Hi!" A girl who looks like she was only 10 years old waved at you. She was tall, has a green hair, and a big smile on her face. Yet you could see the tiredness on her eyes. And just like Gin, she had a tattoo on her neck.

It was the same as Gin's. Although his tattoo was just a number. Come to think of it, his tattoo was a number 10 wasn't it? You thought as your eyes scanned her neck. But unlike Gin's tattoo, hers was accompanied by a star before the number. 07? Why does that sound familiar?

"Oi newbie, Aiko-nee-san greeted you? Why aren't you answering?" The girl beside her said as she glare at you. Looking at her, you realized that they look alike. She was about your age and has green highlights on her hair. Like Aiko, the girl with green hair, she had a tattoo on her neck. But it didn't have a star. 08.

"C'mon Aika-chan. I told you to be nice!" Aiko scolded her. She just mumbled sorry and then looked down. "Ahaha... Sorry about that." She apologized to you. You just stared at her for a minute before telling her it was alright. I think she's fine. I don't sense any hostility nor do I think that
she has hidden motives.

"...May I ask who you are?" You asked, just to relieve the awkwardness between you. Aiko smiled and immediately held out her hand. "I'm Aiko! A.K.A Number 07! And this little girl is my sister!" She introduced, nudging her little sister.

"I'm Aika. Number 08... Nice to meet you." Aika said, forcing out the 'Nice to meet you' part because Aiko looked at her with wide eyes as if telling her to introduce herself properly. Looks like someone has sister complex.
