Bethany and Lex tried to make their way through the mass of people as fast as they could, but that was easier said than done. Of course they were the only people in need of getting out of there; the others were simply eyeing them weirdly because of their hurrying. They were certainly not even thinking about leaving yet.
"Fucking damn it!" Bethany exclaimed as a tall guy blocked her way for the third time.
"Over here," Lex grabbed her arm and pulled her through a small opening between two clearly very drunk girls, that were dancing unsteadily.
They continued almost fighting their way to the door, and finally they could open it and breath fresh air again. Bethany took a sharp breath and started eyeing their surroundings nervously, while holding on to the handles of her knives in her sleeves tightly. She could feel her fingers slip a bit while doing so and held on even tighter. The sky was close to black now, and stars already covered it. The moon shone brightly and full above them, which Bethany was thankful for. That would make it a whole lot easier to spot their enemies.
She saw Lex pull out some silver brass knuckles from his pocket, which he put on and then clenched tightly in his fist. He clenched his jaw and let his gaze fall on the surroundings as well. For the first time ever; Bethany could see how he could be a good assassin. He looked extremely set on doing harm, but it didn't scare her at all. It made her even more attracted to him.

Several minutes passed, and Bethany and Lex had made their way over to an opening between two houses, where they were out of reach for the moonlight. They waited anxiously for any sound or anything else to tell them Chico and his gang were there. The thought of not knowing anything of the other's locations at the moment made Bethany even more on edge. But she just made herself believe they were okay and instead went back to focusing on her current situation.
"You hear anything?" Lex suddenly whispered from just behind Bethany, which made her jump.
"No, do you?" she hissed back, a bit irritated at him for scaring her.
"No," he said and then went quiet again.
Some more time passed, and then Bethany whispered:
"This is ridiculous, how could Petra think he was here?"
She stepped out from their dark corner and looked around one more time; no one was in sight.
"Wait Beth!" Lex hissed and tried to get ahold of her arm, but didn't succeed.
Bethany ignored him and continued walking, while still holding her knives so that she would be ready if someone appeared.
"Get back!" Lex exclaimed a bit louder this time.
"Oh stop, there's no one here. Just get out here and you'll see that-," Bethany got cut off by a knife being thrown towards her.
It flew through the air so close to Bethany that she could feel the wind on her face, and then impaled the brick wall just a few meters behind her. She gulped and widened her eyes at the sight of the knife being stuck to the hard wall; it must have been thrown with a whole lot of strength to be able to do that. The thought of what would have happened if it had hit her crossed her mind, and then she remembered she needed to act.

Bethany took out her knives from her sleeves and went into full focus. She looked around every corner and place she believed the knife could have been thrown from, while backing up a little. There was nothing telling her where the person was, the only thing she knew was that they must have been standing somewhere on her right. Otherwise, the knife wouldn't have hit where it did.
A sound of steps on gravel behind her made her turn her head fast backwards. She had just raised her right knife to fight whoever the person was, when she realized it was Lex coming to back her up.
"Told you," Lex muttered while going up on Bethany's left.
"This is no time to be smug about that," Bethany snapped and gave him an annoyed glare.
Lex raised an eyebrow at her expression and then suddenly became even more tense than he already was. Bethany followed his gaze to the right, where she believed the person may be and finally spotted them. It was a tall man with dark hair that was covering his face and another knife similar to the one on the wall in his hand. He was wearing a black t-shirt and black jeans that both showed the insane muscles on his body. He looked bigger and bigger the closer he got, and Bethany could hear Lex gulp loudly beside her. Bethany thought this maybe wasn't a fair fight; which you could believe would be because they were two against one. But no, it may not be fair towards them, because the man was so enormous he could probably just touch them with his finger and they would fly away like they weight nothing.
"Is he with the Soto Vatos?" Bethany whispered, but didn't take her eyes of the man.
"I don't know; probably. He's not from school, though. He looks at least 25..." Lex said, and there was a hint of fright in his voice.
"Shit," Bethany mumbled as an answer.
