doyoung was startled by the sound of his phone alarm that filled the silence inside his room out of a sudden.

realizing that he had a night shift that day, he quickly went back to bed, tucked himself into the warm blanket and was about to close his eyes.

until he remembered lee haru's presence in his living room. although he was more than a hundred percent sure the girl was still fast asleep, doyoung couldn't resist himself from making sure she was alright after getting hit by the heavy rain yesterday.

the tall guy slowly made his move towards the sofa, trying not to make any noise that would wake her up. and as he had expected, she was sleeping soundlessly despite being in someone else's house.

however, when doyoung was about to fix the blanket that was only covering half of her body, he began to notice that something was wrong. haru's face was all red, covered in cold sweat and her breathing was heavy.

doyoung immediately realized that she's having a high fever after slightly placing the back of his hand on top of her forehead.

"j-jae," he heard her call, still having both of her eyes shut tight.

doyoung sighed, "lee haru, are you alright?"

"my head, hurts, so bad," she whispered, but loud enough for him to hear. doyoung got up, was about to walk to get some medicine before she haru stopped her.

with all the power she had left, haru weakly grabbed his left hand, "don't leave me," she mumbled, strengthening her grip on his hand.

"i'm not going anywhere," doyoung assured. he gently lifted haru's body and walked inside his room, placing the sick girl on his bed to make her feel more comfortable.

he then made his way to the kitchen and heat up a bowl of chicken soup he had in the fridge. although haru didn't want to open her mouth at all at first, doyoung patiently took care of her, made sure her stomach was not empty and gave her some medicines.

he couldn't help himself from staring at haru's face. her eyes were still puffy from crying last night, her red face was all covered in sweat and her breathing was still heavy.

"kim doyoung," called haru softly.

"hm?"

"you're not going?" she asked, half whispering.

"i have evening shift today, don't worry," doyoung replied, caressing her hair slowly.

haru didn't reply. she instead stared blankly at doyoung's worried face. she was grateful that despite of the mess she was in, there's still someone who is still willing to be there for her.

"i'm sorry for-"

"shh," she was about to say something when doyoung quickly hushed her. he didn't want her to feel guilty.

"if you are sorry, stop making me worried and recover quickly,"

haru let out a chuckle at the sentence she had just heard and replied, "of course,"

doyoung pulled his blanket closer to haru's neck, making sure it covered her properly, then got of from his seat.

"go get some rest, i'll be in the living room if you need anything,"

jaehyun sat on the edge of his bed, both of his hands supporting his chin. it has been several days since he broke up with haru, but even until this second, he couldn't believe they're not together anymore.
