《 Chapter 4 》

This might just be absolute shit so I'm just gonna give you all another fluff chapter.

Deo's pov:

I woke up to my alarm going off. I tried getting up but something heavy was on me and it was preventing me from getting up. I looked down only to see Tommy curled up on my chest, I couldn't help but aw at the sight. I looked around a little and found my phone sitting on my nightstand, I quickly turn it off and then I just decided to mess around on it a bit before getting ready for the day. It's Wednesday but school was canceled because of a staff meeting and they didn't want to hire a load of substitutes. I could take Tommy down to the bakery later once he wakes up cause I don't really wanna cook this morning. After maybe an hour or something I finally decide to get ready for the day, so I carefully move Tommy off of me and go to my closet to grab some clothes. I chose some black ripped jeans, a white t-shirt, and my usual orange hoodie. I took a quick shower, shaved, got dressed, and then I just relaxed for a while until Tommy would wake up.

About 30 minutes later

Tommy's pov:

You know that feeling when you sleep in a weird position and your just trying to stay asleep so you won't have to deal with it? Yeah that's been me for the past 5 minutes. I eventually just gave up and got up slowly, to be honest while it did feel good to stretch I honestly still felt like absolute shit. I looked around and noticed Deo was gone so I figured he was already dressed and junk so I just grabbed some clothes from his closet and took a shower and got dressed. I ran down stairs to find Deo chilling on the couch. "Hey Deo." I said calmly. "Hey Tommy, wanna go to the bakery for breakfast? I'm too lazy to cook right now." Deo asked. I thought it over for a moment and in the end it did sound nice, the bakery was one of those places that even if you'd never gone in there before the minute you enter it you just get hit with a feeling of nostalgia. Not to mention the food there was really good. "Sure, sounds nice." I responded a little excited, it's been awhile since I last went there. "First let me change your bandages then we'll go." Deo responded as he went to grab the first aid kit. To be honest I sorta forgot about my wrists, now that I think about it I'm really upset with myself for breaking my streak, I was doing so good and then I just fucked it all up. I snapped out of my thoughts when Deo tapped my shoulder. "Don't get mad at yourself, I know you might've tried your best to not break your streak and that your upset you did but don't worry about it." Deo said to me warmly. "How did you?" I questioned, somehow Deo was always able to tell when something was wrong with me. It was like he could read my mind. "You were spaced out and you were rubbing your arms, you always do that when you feel guilty about cutting or breaking your streak." Deo said as he guided me over to the table. Guess that explains it. "Don't beat yourself up about it either. Healing takes time, and healing from stuff like this can take a while." Deo said as he carefully rebadged my wrists. "I know." I responded. "I know it takes time but it's so frustrating! Why can't I just get better!?" I started to shout a little, I know healing takes time but I hate how long it's taking. Deo finished bandaging my wrists and then took my hands in his. "Calm down Strawberry, don't forget that I'm gonna help you get through this alright." Deo said gently. "Alright." I responded quietly. After that we both pulled on our shoes and began the short walk to the cafe. The walk was filled with a comfortable silence as we walked, the weather was really good today, it wasn't cold but also wasn't really hot. We reached the cafe in a few minutes and when we entered I couldn't help but smile at the smell that hit me once we entered. No matter what the cafe always smelled like cinnamon, it really helped give it a calm environment. "Hey guys!" A very familiar voice said to us. I looked over and felt my smile get brighter at the sight of the person. They had short and fluffy brown hair, brown eyes, and a pair of white and black glasses on their head. "Hey Gogy!" I responded cheerfully. George was one of the workers here, he worked with Niki, Bad, Karl, and Puffy. All of them were really nice and on certain occasions they would give Deo and I a free cinnabon if we were good. "Haven't seen you two in a while! How's my favorite couple doing?" George whispered the last part, George, Niki, Bad, Karl, and Puffy were the first people we told about our relationship and they were very happy for us. "We're doing good. How about you and Dream?" Deo responded in a slightly teasing tone. "Yeah how's your beloved Dream?" I joined in with the teasing. Needless to say George's face turned bright red. Dream and George started dating about a year ago and it's pretty obvious they are a perfect match for each other. Dream works at the zoo and he's a pretty cool guy, one time he showed me how to feed the tigers, while it was terrifying it was actually really cool. "Anyways, what can I get for you two?" George asked, his face still a little red from our teasing. "I'll have a cinnabon with a hot chocolate please." I asked, their cinnabon's are probably the best thing ever and I would willingly fight anyone who would disagree. "I'll have a chocolate croissant and a water please." Deo asked. "Ok go and take a seat and your order will be with you shortly." George told us as he walked off to give the order to either Niki or Bad. We went and sat at our usual seat, it was a four person booth that had a window with a beautiful view and it was near the fireplace, it basically felt like it was straight out of a fairytale! Actually the whole cafe looked like it was from a fairytale, the outside building looked sorta old fashioned and had vines and such growing on the outside, the floor made of wood and the counter was as well, all the small tables were made out of metal but it still fit the cafe, the booths were wooden and the seats had comfy cushioning, there were beautiful fairy lights all around the place, there's so much that I can't say it all without talking nonstop for like an hour [author totally didn't get sidetracked when writing this part]. Anyways Deo and I just chatted a bit while waited, we mostly just talked about what we could do today and where we could go. "Here you boys go! One hot chocolate with a cinnabon, and one chocolate croissant with a water!" I looked over and was quickly met with someone who had a bright and colorful sweatshirt tied around their waist. "Thanks Karl!" Deo and I both said at the same time. All three of us paused for a minute before laughing. "Don't hesitate to call me over if you guys need anything!" Karl cheerfully said before he had to get back to work. Karl was really nice, just like everyone else that works here, and he was genuinely a pleasure to be around. If there were a lot of kids in the cafe he would always read them stories from a book he had, and even though I would never admit it sometimes I'll listen to his stories just cause of how fun they are. My favorite story of his is called "The Wild West" because of how interesting it is and not to mention how funny it is. A lot of the characters in the stories are based off of people I know and I always tease Karl about one character in particular. Karl always makes it so he's the main character in the story so when he reads it sounds like a real experience he had or at least to the kids, but in every story there is always one character that Karl always flirts with, the character he based off his boyfriend SapNap. SapNap or Nick is Karl's boyfriend, he works with Dream at the zoo and he is really good at his job despite how distracted he can get. Deo and I calmly ate our food and just discussed random topics and once we finished our food we decided to stay a little longer to decide on an activity.

Deo's pov:

Having breakfast at the cafe is probably one of my favorite activities. Tommy and I can just relax while we eat great food, and because the cafe isn't really that busy once it opens in the morning we get to talk with our friends because they don't have much work to do until later when more people start coming in. "How about we just chill outside for most of the day? It's really nice outside and it'll give us a good reason to get away from electronics and junk." I explained. Tommy was really quick to agree to the idea seeing as how it's been awhile since we just hung out outside. "Well let's pay for our food and drinks then head out." I say as I wave Karl over. Of course I knew Tommy was gonna talk with them for a while before we would leave and to be honest I was fine with it, we hadn't come down here for a while and it was nice getting to talk to everyone. "Hope you guys enjoyed your food!" Karl said in his usual happy tone. "We did." I responded happily. "We're planning on just wandering around today, any recommendations on where to go?" Tommy asked Karl, Karl usually had good recommendations for places to go and hang out at so if anything asking Karl made the most sense. "Hmmm if you guys just wanna hang out somewhere that's pretty quiet then I recommend this spot in the park. It's just past the willow tree, it has a really pretty view and it's a good place to get away from noise. Another place I would recommend is probably the zoo since they're getting a new marine life exhibit today." Karl said slowly as he considered more places we could go. "Thanks for the recommendations Karl. We'll make sure to check them out!" I said happily. Karl smiled brightly, and after some talking we went to the counter to talk with the rest for a bit before leaving.

That's it for this chapter! Holy shit that was a lot to write, but it was fun. Hope you all liked the first official chapter I made now that I'm back! Also I hope it wasn't too cringy or boring for you all. Like I said I'm just starting to get used to writing this story again seeing as how I haven't touched this book for like 2 months I'm pretty sure. Also if you guys want I can try and put pictures of what certain buildings look like, stuff like the cafe and junk, but I'll probably put those in a separate chapter. Anyways gonna head off now, but hope you liked the chapter! See you all in the next chapter!
