"Your third year in Hogwarts! Oh darling, I'm so proud of you!" mum cried as she cuddled me close.

Honestly, she isn't even my real mother. They aren't my real parents, and I am not their real daughter either. They never had a child actually. Nevertheless, I love them dearly.

"Thanks," I answered sheepishly.

My parents were attacked by those bloody Dementors and killed by Death Eaters. Yes, my real parents were tortured by those blasted followers of "You-Know-Who", doing their best to escape from all things evil. At least, that's what my (disowned from their Wizarding families from a very young age) wizard-born Muggle parents kept telling me, as if they even know what they truly are. But I suppose what they say is true, because even Professor McGonagall says my strong-willed nature was inherited from my real parents.

"What's it like? Studying there?" father asked.

"It's different." I answered straightforward. Hogwarts is one of the best schools for people as different as I am. Witches and wizards. But really, there was one time in my life when I wished I wasn't different. There in Hogwarts, I only had a handful of friends. Not that I really needed any though. "Oh, umm. I need you to sign this for me?"

"Another form, I suppose?" mum asked, amused. I nodded my head in agreement and passed the piece of parchment to her. Her eyes began to water all of a sudden and she then sobbed, as she finished writing her signature, "I'm going to miss you Brianna."

"It's just another school year. It'll be over before I could even say Hogsmead." I faked a laugh, wishing what I just said was a fact.

My first year in Hogwarts was quite alright actually. I made new acquaintances and had a blast learning new things about Magic, and Potions, and Magical Creatures. When I first received my letter, I didn't know what to do or what to expect. I didn't even believe in Magic! But things got better for me when I realized that on that day on, I could somehow do whatever pleases me. Cliché, I know but at that moment, I actually considered myself as something better. Someone better. Until Pansy Parkinson accused me of cheating during one of Professor Snape's examination on my second year. It caused the Gryffindor house a deduction of 40 points! Impossible, I know. But after that, many students, (but not all) treated me differently.

"Are you all set? Hogwarts Express leaves in less than an hour."

"Yes, father." I grabbed my luggage and Nebula's cage. "Wouldn't want to forget about this beauty!"

Nebula is my little companion, my owl. I got her from no other than Eeylops Owl Emporium. Nebula was the smallest Barn Owl of the bunch and I knew she was the one that I wanted. Curious creature, really. For such a tiny bird, her screech was sharp as a needle. Quite clumsy at times too.

The trip to the train station was too short for my liking. But I didn't really have a choice. I gave my parents one more hug and off I went to Platform 9. It felt rather curious the first time I went on the platform. It just looked wrong to go through a solid brick wall. It made no sense at all! But its Magic, anything is possible.

I picked up my pouch and got on the train. Once I got in, I was greeted by none other than Seamus Finnegan.

"Well it isn't Ms. Banon, herself!" so much for making this year different.

"It's good to see you too, Seamus." I said, emphasizing his name.

"We wouldn't want you to go making our House loose points again." Said Dean who was right behind him.

"Mind you, but you lost some points too."

"Well at least we didn't cheat!" the lads laughed in unison.
