My Mother and Father exchanged another worried glance. Nothing like the first time I asked what was going on. Ever since the rebellion attack three months ago occurred, the Rulers of Alya had become paranoid with worry for their only heir. Their daughter. Me.
Now they were sending me away to the countryside. I hated it. They were cowards and I didn't need their concern or pity of love, not if they were willing to abandon me to a lonely village miles and miles away. I was only five, innocent and in need of strong parents who actually loved me.
"Goodbye, my sweet." Said Mother.
"Stay strong." Said Father. They wrapped their arms around each other and watched as the cart holding me in it rolled away into the forest that would lead to my new life.
For however long it could last.
